Enjoy a peaceful coastal getaway at this cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home in Bellburns, NL. Just steps from the ocean, Oceanview Retreat offers beautiful water views from the living room and primary bedroom. Surrounded by rugged coastline, quiet beaches, and the natural beauty of western Newfoundland, Bellburns is a perfect place to slow down, explore, and reconnect with nature. We love travelling with our own cats and welcome pets of all kinds. The space Oceanview Retreat is located right on the beach, with a freshwater spring running along the front and side of the property. The spring feeds a small pond beside the house, where you may even spot fish during your stay. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to enjoy your time away, including a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig, kettle, and Actifry. Basic pantry items are provided, including salt, pepper, coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener, ketchup, mustard, relish, and more. A BBQ is also available for guests to use on the front deck. The front bedroom features a double bed, while the back bedroom has a queen bed and a desk workspace. Both bedrooms include comfortable pillow-top mattresses, large closets, extra pillows, and additional blankets. The living room sofa converts into a full-size bed, with an additional 3-inch memory foam topper available for extra comfort. A fold-out single bed is also available in the closet for additional sleeping space. Stay connected with high-speed internet and enjoy the smart Roku TV, where you can access your own Netflix, YouTube, and other streaming accounts. Board games, puzzles, and books are available for relaxing evenings. The home is mostly wheelchair accessible, with a large front ramp, no stairs, and wide doorways. Please note that the bathroom is not fully accessible, as the space between the vanity and washer/dryer is approximately 24 inches wide. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire home, including the patio and BBQ area. Entry to the home is through a secure keypad, allowing convenient self check-in at your arrival time. Smoking is not permitted inside the house. Guests are welcome to smoke outdoors and are asked to properly dispose of any cigarette waste. Other things to note Staying Connected: Oceanview Retreat has high-speed Starlink internet available for guests to enjoy during their stay. Please note that Bellburns does not have cellular service. If your phone supports Wi-Fi calling and it is enabled, you should be able to make and receive calls and texts while connected to the house Wi-Fi. Cellular service is available just outside the community if needed. A house phone is also available for emergency use. As with many rural locations, occasional internet interruptions may occur during severe weather or due to service issues. Before arriving, we recommend saving or taking a screenshot of your door code and check-in instructions in case you have limited internet access when you arrive. Groceries & Supplies: Bellburns is a small coastal community with no grocery stores, shops, or restaurants, so we recommend planning ahead and bringing the groceries and supplies you will need during your stay. For basic items and last-minute supplies, smaller stores are available nearby: Hulls Convenience in Daniel’s Harbour (approximately 10 minutes south) Steady Gas Bar in River of Ponds (approximately 20 minutes north) For a larger grocery selection, Colemans in Port aux Choix is approximately a 50-minute drive north of Bellburns. Many guests arrive through Deer Lake Airport, which is approximately a 2-hour drive south of Bellburns. Deer Lake has larger grocery options, including Foodland and Colemans, making it a convenient place to stock up before beginning your trip north. We recommend picking up groceries before arriving, especially if you are planning to settle in and enjoy the quiet of the coast. Water: Oceanview Retreat has a whole-house water treatment system that treats all water entering the home. The system includes particle filtration and UV disinfection, providing treated water throughout the house, including drinking water. As with many rural communities, boil water advisories may occasionally be issued due to water testing requirements or temporary interruptions in the ability to complete routine testing. Because of this, Oceanview Retreat has additional water treatment measures in place beyond the community system, including whole-house filtration and UV disinfection, to provide an added level of protection and peace of mind for our guests.
