Description

Featured on George Clarke's Remarkable Renovations season 2 Episode 4 this former shop has been returned to its original Georgian roots with a modern twist. The top spec lounge/kitchen/diner opens onto a sunken patio in a well stocked garden. Adjacent to the south Cotswolds we are almost equidistant between Stroud (15m), Bath (15m), Bristol (17m) and Gloucester(20m). Lots of walking! Very convenient for events at Tortworth Court and Badminton House. The space Three spacious double bedrooms with a large ensuite in the vaulted master. Bedroom 2 has an ensuite wetroom & bedroom 3 a modern bathroom just along the hall. Lounge with woodburner and office/cinema room complete the accommodation but the real feature is the spacious kitchen/diner. Outside is a large flat garden with gas BBQ and several seating areas. Guest access Guests have access to the whole building except for a further private bedroom which will be locked off. A cot for a toddler/baby is available in the master bedroom. Additional guests or children can be easily accommodated by negotiation. Other things to note Our aim is to ensure you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We are happy to make the house child friendly with stairgates/cot/extra bed and are very flexible on arrival and departure times. There is a house guide with appliance manuals and tips for local shopping, restaurants and trips. I am always happy to offer advice prior to your visit as many of the best local country pubs do tend to book up! One local attraction I would heartily recommend is the King's country home at Highgrove. If you do want to visit this you need to book it well in advance - sign up for the notification for when the booking system opens and act quickly as it fills up rapidly. The tour plus lunch was £80 in 2025 which seems a lot but is in fact very good value. The Georgian city of Bath is a must see for visitors - please speak to us for tips on parking and access. There are multiple National Trust properties within driving distance. Dyrham House and estate is just the other side of the M4 on the Bath road and the lovely Tyntesfield just south of Bristol is an easy drive down the M5. Visitors can have a day at the beach at Weston-super-mare or Barry (in Wales). We can provide buckets and spades! For Harry Potter Fans there are film locations at Gloucester Cathedral and in Laycock (near Chippenham). You can also visit the beautiful Castle Combe, pictured on many buscuit tins and location for stardust the original Doctor Dolittle film.
