Description
All are welcome to our self-contained suite (shared vestibule). Near many scenic spots -- Englishman River Falls, Top Bridge, the beach... or just enjoy the hummingbirds in our backyard oasis. Walking distance to the beach. Two induction hot plates, sink, DW, microwave... _NOT_ a stove. Instant pot, bbq available. Economical monthly rates. Ask for a bigger discount for entire winter. Open to long stays but not tenants - we use the suite too. Linens cleaned weekly for long stays. The space Our home and the attached guest suite are located in a semi-rural area of Parksville called French Creek. The yard does not have a lawn. It is dedicated to food and flowers for us and wildlife. Niel's woodturning studio occupies our garage. Our home is connected to the guest suite through a vestibule, and shares the backyard, BBQ and patios with the guest suite. Our goal is to be super-duper-clean and low- allergen. All bedding and even the floor mats are laundered between visitors. Guest access There may be fruit or flowers to share from the garden. Other things to note Our guestbook has many popular nearby attractions, and we are happy to assist with any questions you might have about the surrounding area. The closest beach is at Johnstone Road (~10 min walk). MUCH nicer beaches at Seacrest or Butterball (15 to 20 min walk/5 min drive). Seacrest is our favorite, with good kayak/SUP access at the far end of the street. You have to get over varying numbers of rocks to get to the sand at most beaches. The far end of Seacrest also has a bit of a pathway partially cleared out through the rocks. Bring your water shoes and be aware of the tide. The suite has a heat pump/air conditioner. The living room and bedroom also have ceiling fans. The kitchen is equipped with two induction hot plates and many cooking essentials if you prefer to dine in. Instant pot and more BBQ tools available on request. There are excellent restaurants nearby --some with amazing views. Trip Advisor has some good tips. We are about 2 hours to Victoria or to Tofino/Ucluelet, 50 minutes to Comox/Courtenay, 25 minutes to Nanaimo, 10 minutes to downtown Parksville and Qualicum Beach. We have a limited selection of toys for young kids and a few games for adults. The room is a better fit for children and infants if you plan to use us only as a home base for sleeping and eating.
