Kona Rimwe & Kabiri – 2 Beautiful Cottages, 4 Beds

Welcome to Kona Rimwe & Kabiri, two newly renovated, modern cottages located in the heart of Kigali. The cottages offer a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and are perfect for couples, a group of friends, or a family visiting the city with their kids. The space Rimwe & Kabiri were renovated in 2022 by four friends and designers looking to create simple, beautiful, and memorable stays for guests visiting Rwanda. We’ve put in a lot of effort reimagining these two old Rwandan homes to suit the needs of a modern traveler, including thoughtful design touches wherever possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Enjoy easy access to Kigali’s countless culinary, cultural, and historical highlights from the property or stay in and enjoy a cup of chai on the patio while it rains. LIVING ROOM & KITCHEN Both cottages have an open plan living room space with a fully functional kitchen fit with modern appliances including a fridge, 4-burner stove, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, water filter, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. The living space includes a 43” Smart TV set up with a Netflix subscription and a high-speed internet connection (200 Mbps). BEDROOMS There are four bedrooms in total, 2 in each cottage. Each has a comfortable queen sized mattress (with bedding and linen), side tables and lamps, a spacious wardrobe, and a ceiling fan. BATHROOM There are three bathrooms in total, 1 in Rimwe and 2 in Kabiri. The bathrooms are fit with hot-water showers, and handheld bidets for the toilet, along with extra hand and bath towels. We provide free shower hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo for all our guests. UTILITY There is a utility area at the back of the house that has a washing machine and dryer that can be used by guests at no cost. There is also an electric iron, an ironing table, a clothes drying stand, and high-chair for toddlers that can be requested by guests at any time. PARKING The property has space to park two cars in the driveway. Please let us know if you’d like use the parking during your stay. SAFETY Patrick, our trusted full-time caretaker stays on the property and looks after it. We have CCTV cameras installed around the house for additional security. The neighbourhood is generally very safe given the close proximity of the Kacyiru police station, the president’s office, and multiple government offices and international embassies. Guest access There are two cottages on the property. You will be able to access all parts of the both cottages i.e. the living area and kitchenette, bedrooms, bathrooms, and porch area. You will also be able to access the common garden between the two cottages and the utility area at the back of the house. Other things to note We provide free cleaning and change of sheets/towels etc. once a week for guests who stay for 5+ nights. Alternatively, cleaning equipment is provided inside the cottages for the guests to use.
