Description
Welcome to the wild isolation of Eastern Lapland! This country house, built in the 70s, has served as the main building of a reindeer farm, a loving home, grandma’s place, and a shelter for a bunch of cats, dogs, and motherless reindeer babies. Decades have given this house a unique character. It is located between a fish-filled pond and the River Luiro. A small village shop is approximately 2 km away. Massive reindeer herd sightings and hangouts are guaranteed in the wintertime! The space This house has four bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a recently renovated bathroom with an authentic log-heated sauna (the only real way to warm up a sauna). A baby’s crib, bathtub, and high chair can be arranged. There are also some old toys for children to play with and board games for family fun. In the front yard, there is a small hut (without water or electricity) that can be used for sleeping or hanging out in the summertime. It will be transformed into a kids' play hut in the summer of 2025! Guest access The whole house and the yard are yours to enjoy! Other things to note Furry friends are welcome! But because the house is located at the reindeer farm, dogs are not allowed to roam freely outside. . If you are not afraid of dressing in the 80-90's finnish-winter-fashion, you can borrow warm winter clothes and snowshoes from the house. Because there is practically zero artifical light near by (if you do not light it up), northern lights and the night sky looks amazing here. The pond (100 m from the house) is an ideal place to watch them.
