Other things to note Penguins Retreat was built many years ago right on the beach. You cannot build this close to the beach any longer. The buildings are rustic but well maintained. The floors are hard as we are pet friendly and need to control the sand coming in from the beach. It is thoroughly cleaned after each guest but some people think that because it is old, it is dirty.
