Tranquility View - Off Grid Scandinavian Luxury
Details
With your closest neighbor 3 miles down the valley, find refuge from the modern world amidst giant cedars, expansive views of Eldorado glacier, and murmuring sounds of Cascade River. This airy Scandinavian-style mountain home is well appointed with a lovely Japanese-tile bathroom, Casper queen mattress, wood burning stove, marble kitchen, & fast WiFi. All immediately adjacent to North Cascades National Park in a narrow, misty mountain valley. Perched on a South-facing mountain in the narrow Cascade River valley, this home gets lovely light and sits on 5 acres. Access is via a paved, well-maintained road which allows all car types to visit. The home interior is coated in maple panels. The main sitting room has large windows that open to views of the glaciers and orchard. There is a Rais wood-burning stove and detailed directions on how to build a fire. Most of the heat in the cooler months is made by the woodstove; plenty of wood is available. A split heater also provides heat in the winter and cooling in the summer. A walnut live-edge desk with 2 chairs provides a lovely place to write, work, read, and eat while overlooking the valley. A custom wrap-around sofa provides ample sitting room (it is 8 feet on each side) and a high-end sleeping surface should more than 2 guests be staying. The kitchen has marble countertops and a Kohler sink. There is a fridge, freezer, and gas stove/oven. There is also a Breville countertop oven that is fast, excellent, and easy. Sharp knives and cutting boards, pots and pans, silverware and plates, a pressure cooker and waffle maker, a French press and kettle, and all the kitchen accoutrement available for use. The Japanese-tiled bathroom has a lovely shower head with high pressure hot water and is stocked with bath products. A large outdoor deck provides the perfect vantage to take in the giant maples, firs, cedars, and alders, and to enjoy the quiet and solitude of the narrow valley. Two Adirondack chairs and a large cedar bench offer a great way to look up at the evening sky or to take a nap in the afternoon sunshine. Stroll around and pick apples, blueberries, blackberries, plums, and cherries from one of the 70+ fruit trees on the property. High-speed, low-latency satellite internet is available via Starlink. This service allows guests to use the internet as if they were in a city; you will be able to stream movies/shows, place WiFi phone calls (eg, FaceTime calls) and texts, browse the internet, etc with no data caps or limits. You will have complete privacy with self check in at this off grid cabin. This home is the last developed property before North Cascades National Park. A great launching point to explore the "American Alps" and surrounding region. Bike, hike, kayak, or just relax in the beautiful scenery. Marblemount is 7 minutes away; the Shell station there is actually quite well stocked with food products should your rations get low. The road is paved and well-maintained, allowing all car types to visit. There are 2 major ways to get to the home from Highway 5. From Seattle, our favorite route is through Arrington to Darrington and then up to Rockport. This brings you through some beautiful country for an hour or so prior to arriving! You can also go via highway 20.
