RV site with full hookups (30 amp) on a secluded, private church camp across the highway from Henderson County Fairgrounds. Fire ring with grill, bath house, pavilions, outdoor rec options, private lake, and hiking trails all included! Our private, non-profit campground is primarily used by children and youth during the summer but RV sites are available during our slow seasons. The property is gated and you'll be surrounded by beautiful, towering pines. Take a walk or bike down the paved road to our private lake and enjoy fishing or simply sitting and relaxing. Volleyball, basketball, and more outdoor recreation options are available! You'll have access to a full bathroom at the back of our RV Building, and have the option to rent the full kitchen and meeting space inside for an additional fee. Overnight price is for 2 adults. Additional guests must pay a day-use fee. We have a main office across the highway, situated at the front of the "main side" of our campground, where full-time staff keep varying weekday office hours. You'll be provided with contact information for on-call staff for any urgent issues that may arise. Dining We are located just outside of Athens, which is a small town, but still has some great dining options. There are a handful of chain restaurants, and you can find some favorite local recommendations in our Athens Guidebook. Things to Do You may not want to leave the campgrounds, but if you decide to, you'll find plenty of things nearby to stay entertained, including: 1) Henderson County Fairgrounds 2) Lake Athens 3) Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center 4) East Texas Arboretum and Botanical Society 5) First Monday Trade Days in Canton 6) Tyler/Dallas: Both of these towns are easy day-trips away and offer lots of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. ...and be sure to check out seasonal events on the historic square, like Old Fiddler's Reunion and Uncle Fletch's Hamburger Festival! Once you leave the campground you will need a vehicle to get around. Athens grocery stores, gas stations, dining, etc..are rarely more than a 10 minute drive away. Canton is roughly 30 minutes away, Tyler is a 40 minute drive, and Dallas is an hour and a half.
