Stylish 1-bed home with a relaxed “holiday” feel.

Description

With its own access from a short spur road off the High Street, no. 22 (DE73 8GJ ) is a secluded yet central retreat. It is within two minutes' walk of the essential facilities of Melbourne, and only five minutes walk away from the surrounding countryside. The house is spacious, warm and sunny, and opens onto its own attractive and private rear garden. Melbourne is a vibrant little town with plenty of history and culture, offering lots to see and do in the area, and in good walking country. The space Built in 2020, no. 22, High Street is an individually-designed house, compact yet light and spacious, owing to its open-plan nature with a double-height living area and gallery bedroom. The glass sliding doors all along one wall open onto the attractive rear flower garden, which is for the exclusive and undisturbed enjoyment of our guests. It is fully-enclosed, very private and well-lit, perfect for sitting out on warm summer evenings. There is a large, decked area with a table and eight chairs, a parasol with lighting, and a small octagonal Victorian summerhouse. Amenities inside include a wet-room shower room, super-kingsize bed, washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave, fridge, large flatscreen TV, and a piano in good order for musical guests. There is a free long and short stay car park immediately adjacent to the property, subject to the availability of space, or other on street parking close by. Guest access Guests will be left undisturbed unless assistance is required, when we will be pleased to help. Selected drawers and cupboards are locked, to contain the hosts’ personal goods when guests are in residence. Other things to note 1. The location is generally peaceful, but there can occasionally be noise in the evenings from the neighbouring Melbourne Inn on warm, dry weekends in the summer. Closing the windows and rooflights on that side is generally sufficient to deal with it. 2. So far, we have decided not to install black-out blinds at the rooflights. Bright, direct sunlight can pour into the bedroom from sunrise, which may be an issue for some guests in the summer months. Guests who are sensitive to it may like to bring an eye mask.
