Nestled in Del Dios, the small, rural community on the banks of Lake Hodges, and with all the amenities of a large city only 10 minutes away, Quail Cottage is the THE perfect getaway. World class photography, hiking, biking, dog walking, birding, fishing, boating, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, foiling. Great local dining, galleries, music, arts. All this AND within half an hour from the coast. The space Quail Cottage beautifully refurbished and stand alone 256 Sq ft guesthouse cottage with a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, and a cozy, comfortable Queen size memory foam bed. It's all all about convenience and comfort in a beautiful setting. There are plenty of USB charging stations and a good Wi-Fi signal for smartphones, laptops, and tablets. The Smart TV has a variety of subscription streaming services including NETFLIX. Fresh guava, grapes and grapefruit can be picked straight from the vine, depending on the season. How about dinner and drinks on the patio? No problem with the charcoal fired barbecue and outdoor dining area. Need to store your outdoor gear, (bikes, rods, boots)? There's a lockable outside storage shed just for you. If you've as dog, there is a dedicated outdoor potty area and the private outside patio and entrance area has optional gates that can be closed for keeping your pet safe. Guest access The Cottage is located at the Southwest corner of the property with private access via the private stairway and deck on the south side of the property. If you arrive later than expected in the dark, there are motion sensor and solar lights in both the parking area and on the outdoor patio. Feel free to park in the main driveway when loading and unloading, then please park your vehicle in the guest parking area. Other things to note The trails, the Lake and the associated wildlife is no more than a short 5- 10 minute walk from the cottage. These trails also offer some of the best mountain biking in Southern California. The World Famous San Diego Zoo's Safari Park is a short 20 minute drive. The California Center for the Performing Arts with its full calendar of World Class Arts and Entertainment is a 10 minutes drive into Escondido, alongside galleries, restaurants, and breweries. With the 78 Freeway dubbed the Hop Highway, North County San Diego IS the Craft Beer Brewing Capital of the World.
