Description
This historic bank, built in the 19th century has been vacant for many years, but we've restored it to its former glory. complete with the original walk in bank Vault . The Vault has a king and queen size bed, plus a rollaway bed with a memory foam mattress. We have another Airbnb, called The Citadel located upstairs. If you have a large family, you can book both places. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at both locations. The space This historic bank was built in the 1800s and operated as the First National Bank of Fairfield from 1896 until the Great Depression. It still has the original bank vault, complete with the massive door and the original lock. The Vault has a king and queen size bed, plus a rollaway bed with a memory foam mattress. The bathroom is small, as there wasn't one in the original building, so we transformed a maintenance entrance into one. We have another Airbnb, called The Citadel located upstairs. If you have a large family, you can book both places. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at both locations. Guest access The main entrance is located on Main Street. You may also use the back door but must 1st enter through the front as the keys to the back are on the kitchen counter .Please stay out of stair-well that leads to upstairs apartments , we have tenants that live up there . Other things to note There is so much to be told about this unique space from the original marble floors and walls , to the large arch windows facing downtown Main Street. We hope you'll visit and see for yourself! Our favorite part of The Vault is the old walk in bank vault we turned into a replica Speakeasy . *There are extra blankets in the ottoman by the couch. along with a extra roll out bed in the closet that is built into the wall near the front windows.
