Artful and Serene Woodstock Getaway

Please read description thoroughly before booking. Relax with a comfortable mix of rustic and elegant in this colorful studio with loft bedroom in the Catskill Mountains of NY. Midway between lovely towns, Woodstock and Phoenicia. Full kitchen and bath, cathedral ceiling, sleeps two adults comfortably. Due to allergies, we do not allow pets. This includes service animals. We use fragrance free laundry detergent. No smoking or vaping. This listing is not suitable for children or infants. The space The Maskmaker's Studio is a 750-square-foot apartment with a sleeping loft overlooking a living room and a galley kitchen. It's an excellent space for two, with a queen size bed. The kitchen has everything you'll need, including a toaster and a coffeemaker (coffee provided). The water from our well is safe for drinking and tastes great. No need to bring bottled water. The full bath includes a tub. You can also enjoy your own front porch with comfortable chairs and table, perfect for morning coffee. This space, with its vaulted ceiling and skylight, was formerly a working artist's studio, where hundreds of fanciful, colorful masks were created. We hope you'll enjoy its rich creative atmosphere! Our property is set back off the road, and the grounds are secluded and peaceful. Large shag-bark hickory trees line the driveway and perennial flowers bloom here and there. During the summer, it is a pleasure to open the windows and enjoy the cool night air and magical sounds of the forest - it's simply incredible and much better than air conditioning (but we do provide an air conditioner for those times when it's needed). In wintertime, the driveway and path to your door are both regularly cleared of accumulated snow. There's a wall-mounted heater that will keep you warm and cozy inside and, if needed, extra blankets are provided. To balance that warm, cozy feeling of being "snowed-in" you can venture out to nearby Belleayre, Hunter or Windham Mountains to take advantage of the outdoors by enjoying skiing or snowboarding. We provide a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network on a Netgear AC1900 router. The television offers Chromecast, so you can use your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to view your favorite entertainment on the TV screen. Please be aware that in this rural area, the signal from our provider may occasionally be weak or broken, especially in rainy times. It generally comes back quickly and rarely disrupts common usage. Guest access Our home is adjacent to our rentals. Please note this apartment is one of two that are in the same building. The apartments are completely separate, each with its own access, though they do share a wall. To preserve this peaceful environment we ask that you be respectful of others on the property.
