The space If you are a more seasoned traveler that wants to actually experience the country that they are visiting, can handle getting around town, and like completely unique vacations - this place is for you! Consider the Skyloft a private, state-of-the-art hotel room, with an enormous 2-storey rooftop featuring plunge pool, outdoor cinema, shower and more, all inside a brand new, 5-bedroom luxury residential smart home worth well over $1m - The entire rooftop floors are 100% private, just for you. You will not share the rooftop with anyone else. If you are in need of a large indoor space with separate living room, etc. Skyloft may not be for you! Skyloft is all about the outdoor space, and then a compact, well equipped room with an extremely comfortable bed for you to spend your nights. You will access the Skyloft through the front door of the main house. This listing includes the entire Skyloft Studio, the rooftop, “the perch”, two balconies, and a “sky terrace”. The layout and setup is hard to explain, but feel free to reach out and ask for videos of exactly what to expect. The main house living area (ground floor) will be locked off, along with 2 bedrooms. The main house may be occupied, but this will be the owner of the house (me). You may share the entrance of the house and the 1st floor hallway but that’s it. Skyloft studio is fitted with the latest in smart lighting with voice control, along with a wall-mounted iPad, PS4 Pro, 65” LG 4K TV with Netflix HD included, motorized black-out blinds, touch screen coffee machine, Starlink 100mb internet and more. If you are a tech and movie nerd (like us!), you can even sync the Strelitzia Skyloft lights to the Netflix movie you are watching for an incredibly immersive experience! The mattress is a $1,600usd Bamboo Memory Foam Mattress imported from the United States; you will not get a better night sleep in Playa Del Carmen! There are two other airbnbs at the house both with direct views of the infinity pool and cenote. You will not share any private spaces with these airbnbs, consider them different hotel suites within the same building. A 15 minute bike ride will get you from the studio to 5th avenue and the amazing beaches. Make no mistake, our studio is more suited to the seasoned traveler; For those that want to experience local culture, not just the tourist spots. For those that enjoy a bike ride to the town centre, and a bit of adventure. A huge benefit to our location is that it can be extremely peaceful. If you book in the centre, you will usually be surrounded by loud music and the hustle and bustle that lively PDC offers 24/7. With the Strelitzia Project, you can get involved in the lively atmosphere of the town when you want, but then you can retreat to peace and tranquility when you need that too! Having said that, our neighbors need to let loose sometimes too! Please immerse yourself in the upbeat, lively atmosphere, if they do decide to enjoy a gathering by the pool at night! Positive vibes only! In addition, you must understand that for the price per night we are offering, we have outfitted the studio like a 5-star luxury hotel room which you would pay $250+ a night for! As an example, the bamboo memory foam mattress alone was imported from the USA, at a cost of almost $1,600 USD. We doubt you will get a better night sleep on the mattresses you will find at the numerous $80 a night apartments you will find in the town centre. Alexa controlled smart devices are also something you won't find in any Hilton Hotel either! We also like to think we offer peace of mind to our guests. We are owners of the house, not employees of a rental management company that look after 100 other apartments. We are on-site as a sort of personal concierge (to a limit!) to resolve any issues and to generally make sure you have the best vacation experience possible. This is not something you will have the luxury of at other, corporate-run airbnbs in the town. No missed calls, no unanswered messages. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: 1). There might be some construction noise nearby as this is a new development and new homes are still being built. Please reach out to us before booking to give you a better idea if there will be any noise or not during your stay. Usually the noise is not overbearing, and currently the closest construction is not active. If you arrive and decide the noise is too much, we will be open to discussion of refunding you and helping you find another location. Please feel free to read our reviews to see how previous guests felt about the construction noise. 2). The Skyloft Studio itself is not a huge 2 bedroom sprawling apartment - it is a well laid out room with kitchenette and en-suite bathroom. If you are planning an extended stay, please consider this. The Skyloft's value is in its sprawling rooftop, its terraces, its rooftop plunge pool, the perch overlooking the jungle, and views of the infinity pool and cenote. 3). Electricity is included in the price (other apartments may seem like a great deal until you find you you are paying extra for electricity/air conditioning usage. The Strelitzia Project uses solar panels to source free energy, so we pass those savings on to you! 4). We have also just installed a smart laundry room for our Airbnb guests! Many low priced apartments in the area don’t supply a washer / dryer (electricity can get very expensive!) And they recommend local laundromats you can use. We have our very own smart-access laundry room with LG wash tower in the house. Once you request laundry access through Airbnb, we will send you a unique digital passcode for the smart lock, which will grant you one-time access. Inside the laundry room you will find laundry pods / detergent (enough for 2 separate loads. Price is 80 pesos per load, paid in cash when you are ready to use the facilities. Guest access The entire rooftop is completely private just for Skyloft guests. The infintiy pool & Cenote is shared with our neighbors, but it is often times empty (this is a residential neighborhood, not a tourist hotspot).
