Our secluded magical castle in the sky is the perfect romantic hideout for the adventurous, spiritually minded, eco-enthusiasts, photographers, honeymooners and others who love to be immersed in nature while exploring this magnificent part of Bali. Set in lush tropical gardens on the edge of a jungle village deep in the Bali mountains, the house is at an altitude of 850 mtrs and offers spectacular views to Gunung Agung in the east and views across Ubud towards the Bukit Peninsula in the south. The space The house has an open plan layout; the main floor is divided into 2 areas: a sleeping cocoon including a powder room and a socializing area, made up of the kitchen area and a cosy conversation pit. Nicely decorated with lots of love and attention to detail throughout (including a wide range of books and yoga equipment), this is the perfect place to trully unwind and unplug. With springwater flowing from the tap, the polished concrete kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances (including a.o. rice cooker, airfryer and blender) for cooking by yourself or our chef. Because of the open space between the windows and the roof structure, even inside the house you will be immersed in the sounds and scents of the jungle surrounding you, glamping in optima forma (as a heads-up, depending on the weather, we sometimes get a few friendly flying insects visiting us in the evening. They’re completely harmless and just add a bit more nature to our living space). Our Japanese inspired tropical bathroom is semi-outdoor so be prepared to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the spring fed riverstone bathtub and/or under the steaming rainshower underneath the ferntree canopy. The recently installed big electrical waterheater makes for some hour-long bathing sessions. For outdoor activities, the meditation deck located two terraces below the house is a perfect spot for yoga, meditation or your other exercise/daydream sessions. On the cooler evenings, gather around the firepit for some truly memorable moments under the stars. Our caring staff is dedicated to ensure your comfort, offering additional services such as soothing massage, yoga and/or crystal sound bowl healing sessions as well personalised meals prepared by our chef using locally sourced ingredients (ceremonies might influence the availability of our chef). Please note that due to our remote location Wifi only has been available for a couple of months (speed at approx 10Mbps). Depending on your Indonesian phone carrier (Telkomsel is the best bet) , internet coverage with your mobile phone is also possible but will most likely not be stable. Guest access The whole property is available for guests. It is a 180 sqm house with a mezzanine observation deck, a semi-outdoor bathroom all set in a 1 hectare (10.000sqm) garden that is tended to with much love and is waiting for your exploration. Other things to note The beautiful and secluded Pelisan waterfall is just a 7 min drive from our house. Additional services: - pick up from anywhere in Bali; - when available, use of our Honda Vario 150cc automatic scooter (100K IDR per day); - after consultation our chef can prepare breakfast, lunch and/or dinner (most dates); - massage sessions; - yoga sessions; - crystal sound bowl healing sessions; - Mount Batur sunrise hike; - driver and car upon request. Please take note that we are NOT in Ubud; a look at the map will show that we are approximately a 45 minute drive away from Ubud main road. For people who like to enjoy total privacy or some interaction with people from the village, please note that between the garden of the house and our parking area is a small path leading to some rice fields further down the valley. This path is daily used by approx. 10 people going to and coming from their sawas in the morning/afternoon. As we are pretty high up in the mountains with average night time temperatures between 17-24 degrees Celsius, we advise you to bring some warm clothing for those more chilly days as well as some rain gear for being prepared for the occasional downpour while hiking the area. Upon arrival you will be provided with a range of locally sourced groceries and vegetables as well as cooking essentials and complimentary coffee and tea. We aim our cleaning standards to be at the highest, but as we are part of local nature, on occasion insects, frogs, bats etc. will visit the house.
