Nostalgic and new, A 150-year-old old house (170 m2) of a wealthy farmer from the Edo period has been restored . Nishihikasa, a small village nestled at the forest, is filled with traditions and wisdom of life that modern Japan has left behind.Located just over an hour's drive from the center of Tokyo, the village welcomes only one group a day.We hope you will experience the comfort of being with a large family in a small traditional Japanese village. The space Since this is a traditional Japanese traditional house, the rooms are not divided into smaller rooms, but rather a large Japanese-style room divided into two by a door. Other things to note *Please refrain from using this house if you do not like insects, or if you do not like the crevices and soot unique to old private homes. *One day a year, after the rains at the end of April or beginning of May, there is outbreak of insects (in the hundreds) and a big migration of insects. If you are staying on that day, we will refund your lodging fee. This will be lucky day. *In winter (11/15 - 3/15), an additional ¥1,000/person/night will be charged for heating (for 4 commercial stoves). *During New Year's holidays from 28 Dec to 3 Jan, Golden week from 27 Apr to 6 May and the Bon period from 13 to 16 Aug (including Saturdays and Sundays before and after), priority will be given to guests staying two or more nights (consecutive nights) (We can accept guests for one night if there is space available 10 days in advance.). *Although the location ensures privacy, please refrain from making a fuss after 10:00 p.m. at night. *It takes about 10 minutes by car to the nearest convenience store.
