Other things to note As of January 1, 2025 the new, increased rates for the Climate Resilience Fee – imposed on Greece’s hotel rooms and short-term rentals per night – have come into effect. All hotels, furnished rooms/apartments (rooms to let) and short term rentals in Greece are required to implement this environmental fee defined as the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee (Environmental Tax). Accommodations are responsible for collecting this fee from guests and remitting it directly to the tax authorities. The Climate Crisis Resilience Fee (Environmental Tax) is charged per room, per night and must be collected from the guests upon check-in. The specific amount of the fee varies based on the type of lodging and the period of stay. Short term rental properties , self catering accommodations and furnished holiday homes under 80m2 (like the Seahouse) are charged 2 euros per day from March through October and 0,50 euros per day from November through February.
