The Bothy unique cottage providing accommodation for 2 people wishing to enjoy the delights of Shropshire and glorious countryside near the Welsh Borders. Set within a Victorian Walled Garden it is only 3 miles from Shrewsbury town centre. There is a pretty open plan living space with a sofa and armchair, wood burner and dining for four people. A well-equipped kitchen includes a microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. The bedroom sleeps two and has a king-size bed. The space As you step into The Bothy the small hallway leads you to a tastefully decorated kitchen living space with a sofa and armchair, dining for 4 people and wood burner (logs provided). The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave and nespresso coffee machine. In the bedroom there is a king size bed. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, toilet and basin. There is also a washing machine. The sheltered south facing patio is perfect to relax on a sunny day with patio furniture and a BBQ. The patio looks over the beautifully maintained owners garden which you are welcome to walk round and enjoy. There is also a table tennis table available for guests to use. The owner has another two person property on the site, The Vinery, which could be booked together for two couples travelling together. See listing on Airbnb. Shrewsbury is one of England’s finest medieval market towns, boasting numerous listed buildings including timber-framed black and white buildings, the castle, now a regimental museum, Shrewsbury Abbey, and the 18th Century Shrewsbury Prison. The River Severn forms a loop around the town centre offering gentle riverside walks or a trip on the pleasure boat, Sabrina. If you fancy a bite to eat or a bit of retail therapy the town offers a wide selection of gastro pubs and eateries and interesting boutique shops as well as an award winning covered market. For guest who enjoy the outdoors the Shropshire Hills and nearby north Wales offer an abundance of scenic walking and cycle routes which are worth exploring any time of the year. Easily accessible from The Bothy is Church Stretton and the National Trust’s Cardingmill Valley with it’s pretty waterfall. Ludlow, framed by the gentle Clee Hills, has an impressive castle, magnificent church, many half-timbered buildings, and Georgian red-brick houses. Bridgnorth has the steepest cliff railway in Britain and during summer you can catch the Severn Valley Railway’s steam train which chugs the scenic 16-mile route to Kidderminster. Attingham Park (National Trust), Powys Castle (National Trust), Ironbridge Gorge and the old market town of Much Wenlock (with its medieval priory) are all within easy driving distance.
