Delight in the historic village & its vitality, walk to shops, see Niagara Falls, Canada & Buffalo! Stay in to enjoy our retro bar & lounge area. You’ll feel transported back in time in our peaceful mid-century modern styled home while wanting for nothing with all its current day amenities. Enjoyable home for both a couple and families! Upon your arrival at Hillside Haven, you will experience the reason for the name. The home is nestled on a hillside with the driveway sloping upwards to the home and its two-tiered deck. You will need to navigate the sloped driveway and the steps up the deck to the doors to enter Hillside Haven. Once inside, (entering the upper front door), you will enter the sunporch which provides comfortable seating and full views of the outdoors. Inside the home you will enter the spacious living room, also providing open views of the outdoors. There is a gas fireplace for chilly days and a television with Apple TV apps (just sign in with your account!) The dining area has seating for 6, with 2 high chairs and extra seating (4) in the living room closet. Your will have a full view of the magical backyard as you sit and eat your meal! The kitchen is stocked with all your cooking needs and also has the basics; coffee, tea, sugar, flour, spices, oils. Access the backyard through the kitchen door. The upper bathroom has a tub, shower and stocked with essentials. Main bedroom #1 has a Queen sized bed & two closets with ample storage. Main bedroom #2 has a Queen sized memory foam bed, black-out shades & a vanity for getting ready. The "blue bedroom" is perhaps our coziest. With Queen sized memory foam bed, black-out shades and ample closet storage. Each bedroom has ceiling fans and alarm clocks with wireless charging. Down the hall you will access the lower level of Hillside. Go downstairs to enter the very spacious additional living area. There is an out of the way work space complete with desk & chair to do any necessary work away from home and amble seating for game playing, relaxing & watching tv (Apple apps, just sign in with your account!) There are two pull-out couches for additional sleeping! The tan couch opens to a full-size bed and the gold loveseat opens to a twin-size bed! There are comforters for these beds in the ottoman and all sheets and pillows are stored in the laundry room. Plenty of games are in the TV cabinet! Ahead in the next space you will see more table seating. Perfect for games, having a drink, or additional eating space. This space overlooks the lower deck so you can also see and be a part of what is happening just outside! The other end of this room is our "Whirlpool Lounge". Relax for the evening in our laid-back lounge seating or at the bar! Stocked with plenty of glassware, corkscrew, refrigerator with freezer, sink, and Bluetooth speaker. We suggest turning the mood-lighting on low and enjoying the swanky feel of this space! To the left of this space is access to another full bathroom with a large shower. Outside the bathroom is a storage rack holding towels, hairdryer, hand mirror, and room to hang and store more of your belongings. The laundry room is fully accessible with laundry soaps, iron, steamer, laundry baskets, linens & pillows for pull-out couches. Here you will also find a book shelf which holds books for both young kids and those looking to read a chapter book while on vacation. Some simple toys for little kids are kept here too! Back outside; there is a small front yard on our sloped property relatively close to the 40 MPH road which is part of the Seaway trail and bike route. We suggest letting kids use the backyard! Our backyard has been described as "magical", "peaceful", a "fairyland" and we quite agree. There is a back deck with bench seating and also chairs and a hammock in the backyard for your relaxation. A swing for the kids is set up on the side. Pebble paths lead up the sloped garden area which exudes tranquility! Let the kids explore and they may just find a fairy or two hidden in the ivy! Guests have access to the entire property including the front, back and side yards. Guests are expected to be respectful of the neighboring properties and refrain from entering the other yards. There is a locked storage closet on the lower level that is not accessible for guests. The garage is locked and not accessible to guests. Your time at Hillside Haven is your own! You will have privacy throughout your stay, but if there is anything you need I am easily reached for assistance. Our name describes us well! Our home is nestled on a hill formed tens-of thousands of years ago by Niagara Falls! Our driveway is sloped, and there are stairs to climb to get into and around the home. The yard is also sloped and the elevation increases as it rises up the hill; our backyard has been described as a "fairyland" & "tranquil", and we quite agree. Hillside Haven has the best of everything! One mile from vibrant village center yet perched in a quiet area surrounded by nature. Within reach of many fabulous restaurants, festivals, historic areas, biking paths and hiking trails. Six miles to Niagara Falls, NY and bridge to Canada. Shop in the village or at the ever popular & nearby Niagara Fashion Outlets. While staying at Hillside Haven, you are on the Niagara Wine Trail and Seaway Trail! Artpark is just 1.5 miles away! The beauty of the Niagara River is just over one mile away and visit the Great Lake: Lake Ontario a few miles away! If you seek to discover, explore, be entertained AND relax, we are your home for the weekend, week, or longer! We promise, it'll be hard to leave! Your drive time to the village of Lewiston: less than a minute. Walking time: 10 minutes. Driving and parking in Lewiston is a breeze....and free! A bike route also passes through the village and there are many historic homes, businesses, buildings and natural beauty to sight-see on foot, by peddling, or by car. The Discover Niagara Shuttle offers free hop-on, hop-off service between Fort Niagara and Niagara Falls.
