Beautiful gem with stunning Lake Como view

Villa Gabriella offers breathtaking views of Lake Como from the living room, both bedrooms, and two balconies. The traditional house, built in 1744, sits in the heart of the medieval village of Pognana Lario — directly opposite George Clooney's Villa Oleandra (you can spot it from the balcony). Como is a ~15 min drive away, Bellagio ~25 min. Both bedrooms and the living room have air conditioning. Tourist tax and all other fees are included in the price. The space Free public parking is available right next to the house (approximately 30-40 steps up, or ~80 metres on a flat path if you have heavy luggage). On the ground floor you'll find a fully equipped kitchen and living room. The balcony offers a spectacular 180-degree view of Lake Como — perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner al fresco. In winter, the open fireplace invites you to cosy evenings with a book or a board game overlooking the lake. On the first floor you'll find the bathroom and the first bedroom, with a queen-size bed (1.6x2.0m) and a sunny balcony - ideal for a glass of wine or an Aperol Spritz with lake views. On the second floor there is a second bedroom, also with a queen-size bed. Guest access We use a smart lock - no keys, no stress. You'll receive a personal code before your arrival that is valid only for your stay. To enter, type in your code and press "Yale"; to lock, simply close the door and press "Yale". Other things to note We are genuinely excited to share it with you and want you to feel as at home here as we do. A few things worth knowing before you arrive: 1. The house is located in a medieval village and was built over 250 years ago — for us that is a big part of its charm. It does mean the lanes are narrow and you'll want to carry luggage up the stairs, or take the slightly longer flat route (~80 metres). 2. We love spending longer stretches of time at the villa in summer and often work from here ourselves. That's why we've equipped the house with a 1'000 Mbps fibre internet connection, complemented by Starlink as an automatic backup — switchover happens seamlessly without any action needed from you. The result is a connection reliable enough for working from home, video conferences, Netflix streaming, and anything else you might need. 3. Lake Como is surrounded by steep mountain terrain. Although the house is only ~350m from the water, reaching the ferry dock on foot involves a steep descent (about 30 min walk). We recommend using the car, bus or ferry to explore the lake. 4. We won't be on site during your stay — all communication goes via Airbnb messages or phone. We are always reachable and happy to help. David is available as a local contact if you need anything quickly on the ground. 5. We care about sustainability — the house is equipped with a heat pump for warm water and winter heating. In summer 2026 we are completing the installation of a solar panel system with battery storage, which will make the house largely energy-autonomous from April to September: warm water, air conditioning and all appliances will then run predominantly on solar energy. 6. We put a lot of effort into making this house special and sharing our love of Northern Italy with our guests.
