The Meadow Forest House

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Unwind on our deck, enjoy your meals prepared in our well stocked and newly renovated kitchen with a beautiful view of our meadow and forests on 20 acres at the end of a dead end road, just 10 min from the quaint town of Cottage Grove, OR. We are 20 min from Dorena Lake, Cottage Grove Lake, King Estate Winery, Alesong Brewery, the WhyPass (Carpenter’s Bypass) mountain bike trail system, and 30 min to Eugene. The space This is a remodeled original farmhouse on 20 private acres of pristine meadow and forest. The deck overlooks the open yard and forest and has a large dining table, and small propane fire table to enjoy the stars at night. The living room has a pull out couch and smart TV with a dining table that pulls out to accommodate 6 people. The main bedroom has a brand new cooling gel w innerspring 14” California King size bed with new extra soft bamboo sheets and luxury blankets and comforters.. The second bedroom has a queen bed also with delicious linens. If you feel the need to stay connected, the Wifi is Starlink and shares a 156 mbps down/13mbps upload connection with the caretakers. Cell service is only available through wifi. TV has streaming. There is a dedicated office area in the hall off the living room. Strolls down our quiet road may include glimpses of cows, horses, sheep or any number of wild bird species such as harrier and red tailed hawks, blue herons, even spotted owls. Find the perfect place to relax or do yoga, meditate, or play lawn games on our 20 acres of meadow and forest which includes a small creek, Muslin Creek. Many lawn games are included such as corn hole, bocce, croquet, lawn darts, paddleball. A pack and play is available for your use. Farm to table catering is available from a farm down the road, please contact me for details so you can make reservations. We are 10 min from the quaint town of Cottage Grove which has several good restaurants; notably, The Axe and Fiddle, the Brewstation, Covered Bridge Brewery (which all feature nightly games/events/music), Jack Sprats, Chalerm Thai, San Sushi, Stacy’s Covered Bridge Restaurant, and Bartolotti’s Pizza. Stop by Rally Coffee for some delicious locally brewed coffee, and check out the new treats available at The Crafty Mercantile and Coast Fork Farm Stand or the Hot Spot Cafe. We are about 20 minutes from a wealth of recreation: Dorena Lake and the bicycle trail that goes to it from town, Brice Creek and it’s waterfalls, Cottage Grove Lake, King Estate Winery, Alesong Brewery, the Whypass (Carpenter’s Bypass) mountain bike trail system, and the historic covered bridge tour. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, SUP, biking are all popular activities nearby. We are about 30 minutes to downtown Eugene and all that it has to offer and the U of O. Guest access Guests have use of the first floor of the house, the deck, and the grounds. The attic is off limits to guests. The patio area with hot tub by the other structure on property is also off limits to guests. Other things to note All guests must be listed. No parties are permitted. Any guest not listed will be asked to leave.
