Nestled on the edge of the Kent Downs area of outstanding natural beauty, Larch Barn is a contemporary, spacious and eco focussed cottage retreat. Situated at the foot of Port Lympne Safari Park, Larch Barn is the perfect getaway for couples looking to enjoy spectacular views of the Kent countryside in a gorgeous country garden setting. Now with Air Conditioning in the bedroom for a comfortable night's sleep, even in the UK heatwaves! The space Set amongst gardens and an orchard, Larch Barn consists of a bright and airy open plan kitchen, dining and living space with a well-equipped kitchen, breakfast bar, relaxing lounge space and dining area. Enjoy panoramic views of surrounding fields and the gardens from both the living area and large bedroom, with king size bed and built-in wardrobes. A spectacular stargazing skylight completes the bedroom, simply retract the blind with the remote control from the comfort of the bed to see the beautiful starry night sky. In the bathroom, indulge in a bubble bath or shower with views over the neighbouring sheep fields and distant views of the Cinque port town of Hythe. Accessible from both the bedroom and living area is the large decked terrace, from where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside whilst enjoying a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. A dining table and chairs is provided on the terrace. In tbe garden area, there is a fire pit and BBQ area to relax in. Guest access Whilst Larch Barn sits in the grounds of the main house where we live, it is very secluded and private with large hedging all around, its own driveway and entrance. Parking for 2 cars is provided, please note access to the property is up a flight of stairs. Secure bike storage can also be arranged in the bull shed next door. Other things to note We are ideally situated for those looking to walk, or cycle during their stay with a very popular cycle path and many great walking routes on the doorstep. The famous Royal Military Canal is just a stones throw away, where you can walk along the safari track to spot giraffes, or walk in to Hythe itself. The Botolph’s Bridge Inn is a few minutes’ walk away and is very popular for Sunday lunches and the Shepherds Crook in Burmarsh is also within walking distance. In west Hythe you will find Unit 1, a wonderful pub/bar/cafe which serves coffee, locally brewed beers and has different food trucks each weekend. Nearby there is Port Lympne Safari Park, Annie’s Alpaca Farm, Cinderella’s mini golf and the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway – the smallest passenger railway in the world which you can see go by from the terrace! For those looking for a day out further afield there is plenty to do in the nearby towns of Hythe, Dymchurch, New Romney, Rye, Tenterden and Hastings including many wonderful beaches (the fantastic camber Sands is 30 minutes away) restaurants and vineyards. Why not visit the UK’s only desert, Dungeness, where you will also find wonderful fish and chips at the Pilot Inn. As the top wine producing county in the UK, why not spend a day touring Kent's award winning vineyards? There are over 50 to choose from! Wine tours of Kent offer full or half day tours with all transport, wine tastings and lunch included. A really fun and memorable day out! Great shopping can be found at Ashford Designer Outlet just 17 minutes away, and trains to London take just 38 minutes from Ashford International Station. Just 10 minutes from the Eurotunnel, we are also perfectly placed for those coming or going to the continent. Larch Barn benefits from a dedicated workspace on a mezzanine level, with beautifully framed views out over the countryside. With dedicated Wi-Fi, Larch Barn is a great holiday destination for those needing to work whilst away. A smart TV with Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime and other apps means you can relax with some entertainment too. Please note only streaming services are available, no terrestrial channels. We provide a contactless check in service with keys available in a lock box located outside the property and we will leave you undisturbed to enjoy your stay unless otherwise contacted - which you can do by simple call or text.
