A Beautifully restored cosy listed rural Bothy

Beautifully restored bothy for two within a larger traditional barn. Sits in 1 acre of meadow. Perfect to explore all that Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. Located in Gatelawbridge, nestled within the southern upland hills yet just over a miles from independent shops, cafes, pubs and with amenities in the lovely ducal village of Thornhill. The Bothy has great original character, cosy, comfortable, well equipped with everything you need. It is welcoming with an emphasis on being immaculate. The space An 18th century listed barn Bothy converted into a comfortable place to stay well off the main road down a lane. The Bothy is well appointed and fresh, done in a traditional style to compliment the many features, which include exposed stone work, a vaulted ceiling complete with exposed oak beams. The Bothy is open, light and airy. We do live on site with our four girls and dog so there maybe some family noise and contact. The Bothy can only take ONE dog (if you have 2 small dogs please contact us before booking and we may be able to accommodate). Sorry no cats. Guest access Guests have complete privacy in the bothy rooms with separate access and private off road parking. Guests can also enjoy the Hosts 1 acre wildflower meadow; where they can sit, take in the wonderful views and relax. Guests also have their own private enclosed court yard garden. We are perfectly located for easy access to the Southern Upland Hills, the Solway, 7 Staines, walks, running, cycling, outdoor swimming, sup boarding and much more. It is NOT suitable for toddlers, due to the quirky nature of the property; there is an open staircase and a large sandstone hearth. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. Please be aware that the Bothy does not have a washing machine or dryer. However, we do offer a laundry service, for a small charge. A car is essential, although there is a regular bus service, through the hamlet.
