The Atco Hut

Do not booked with us unless you LOVE dogs! Ours are very very friendly. Enjoy our fully renovated atco hut in the Flinders Ranges. An easy drive from Adelaide; located between Port Augusta and Quorn, The Atco Hut is the perfect retreat for those who are wanting to explore the Flinders Ranges. Or for those who just want a relaxing weekend away. The space During your stay you will have access to a webber Q for outdoor cooking on the generous deck overlooking Saltia creek. Your own personal fire pit for use in non-fire danger season; we can offer you bags of fire wood for $20, and some kindling OR you can BYO wood (do not collect any wood from the surrounding area- as this is a no collection zone; and fines may occur) - pay with cash please. The Atco Hut is modern, clean and refreshing. With wooden floors, down lights, a ceiling fan in the main bedroom and 2 reverse cycle A/Cs. It has a modern kitchen and bathroom; using rain water. Guest access Car parking is close by within our private yard area. Other things to note ***PLEASE NOTE: -The Atco Hut is located approximately 30m from the main residence- and access is via the main residence gate. -Please do not drive off the marked drive way; there are tracks throughout the property; but are very risky in the wet and have steep drop offs. -The property is home to 2 Border Collie dogs (very very friendly and will always be over for a visit) and in the paddock is a small herd of sheep; who can sometimes come and say hello. -We are located approx 20mins from Port Augusta, and 20mins from Quorn in the middle of the pass; there is very limited Telstra 4G phone service (you may have to walk up the hill a short distance) and you may want to be prepared with your food, personal toileteries etc. -There is no free to air Television; all television needs to be streamed via the smart TVs within the hut. -We have hand raised Kangaroos in an enclosure close to the residence; please DO NOT open the gate at any time- you may pat them through the fence, and they do enjoy some fruit and vege if you are wanting to feed them (no bread or processed food please).
