Located in the Gold-Star community of Big Bass Lake, Dear Bear Lodge is -a 3-minute walk through woods to the outdoor pool, tennis & basketball courts, playground, & Passing the Thyme restaurant, -a 5-minute drive to Big Bass Lake & beach (kayak/paddleboard rentals available with amenities pass), -an 8-minute drive to indoor pool & snow tubing hill, -35 minutes to Camelback, Montage, & Jack Frost, and -20 minutes to Kalahari, Crossings Premium Outlets, and other attractions. Dear Bear, Lodge is over 2,100 square feet. Wifi/high-speed internet is provided throughout the house. Sleeping Areas - The 3 bedrooms and den on the main floor offer the following:   -1 queen bed -2 twin beds -1 set of bunk beds -1 full-size sofa bed  Upstairs Living Area:   -1 full bathroom -Family room with new Napoleon gas fireplace (available September through May) and 50" Smart TV. *Starting August 16, 2023, we will be providing television through YouTube TV. You will have the option to add your own personal streaming service apps (e.g. Netflix, Disney+) that you subscribe to from home.* -Rustic, hand-crafted dining room table that seats 8 and kitchen peninsula with 3 stools -Fully stocked kitchen  -Cellular shades on all windows (blackout shades in bedrooms) -Bedroom closets and 2 hall closets for storage   -Air conditioning in the family room & main bedroom during summer months along with fans in all bedrooms Downstairs Area:  -Seating area with sofa, loveseat, and Smart TV with streaming starting August 16, 2023 (see above) -Full-size ping pong table, full-size foosball table, air hockey table, magnetic darts -Full-size washer and dryer -1 full bathroom Outside:  -Large deck with table, chairs, and Weber Spirit grill (propane is provided).  -Circular driveway for 3 - 4 cars -Large side yard with fire pit and Adirondack chairs (you must provide wood; feel free to use any left by previous renters). -Trail through the woods to the Clubhouse complex--a 2 or 3-minute walk!  -Starting August 16, 2023, we will have a front door/driveway security camera that will be active during your stay. You may not access the owner's closet in the bunk bed room. You are not permitted to use the wood burning stove in the basement. I prefer that all communication happen through Airbnb. If there is an emergency and you need to reach me immediately, please call or text. Big Bass Lake is a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood set in the woods. What you'll experience on a walk are quiet roads, lots of deer, and sometimes a beaver or wild turkey. Big Bass Lake and Larsen Lake are about a 5-minute drive from our house. Kayak and paddle board rentals are available from Thursday to Sunday between 11am and 5pm (reservation required; free with your amenities pass). The Clubhouse complex - a walk of 3 minutes on the short trail through the woods next to our house-- is where you'll find the outdoor pool and splash pad. The restaurant Passing the Thyme, the snack bar, and the activities room are all within the Clubhouse walls. Amenities outside include: a full basketball court, 4 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, a new tot lot, and a volleyball area. We have a few tennis rackets and balls at the house, but you may also check them out at the clubhouse. The Big Bass Lake Recreation Center houses the indoor pool (open after Labor Day) along with a dry sauna, pool table, Tree Top Lounge, locker rooms and fitness center. Once the snow hits the Poconos, grab some sleds and/or tubes and head over to the snow-tubing/sledding hills. Sledding/tubing is at your own risk. The Recreation Center is located at 59 Mountainside Drive, an 5-minute drive from the main gate. Big Bass Lake is just 30-35 minutes from Montage, Camelback, and Jack Frost mountains & ski resorts. Also 30 minutes away are Scranton and Stroudsburg--both great day trips! -The kitchen, main living room, and all bedrooms are on the second floor and can only be accessed via a staircase. -We have a 50-gallon hot water heater, so please be mindful of hot water usage. -Like most houses in the Poconos, we have an onsite septic system. It is important that ONLY TOILET PAPER is flushed in the toilet. Please put all feminine products, diapers, wipes and anything else in the trash can. -We provide propane for the gas grill.
