Description

The house is made of stone and was built in 2020 having the traditional style of the old village as a standard. It is located in the upper neighborhood of Makryotika, a sunny semi-mountainous village with an excellent microclimate. It is built aphitheatrically with view to Agia Efimia's bay, where the most services are located. Additionally, the famous Myrtos beach is only 10 minutes away by car. In the picturesque square you will find a Mini Market and two taverns with great local cuisine. The space The whole house consists of two stone buildings around a courtyard with a grapevine. The house was originally built in 1910 and completely rebuilt in 2020 with the dominant elements being the visible stone walls and wood. It is located at the upper part of the village and has two beautiful spacious private courtyards. The main building is a one-room studio with an internal loft. The house features a double bed, bathroom with shower, kitchen and two mattresses in the loft. There is also a large built-in couch that can be used for sleeping. We provide free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, fridge, oven and electric hob, toaster, espresso machine, kettle, hair dryer and electric iron. In the courtyards you will find built-in benches, dining sets and a hammock. The first one is located in the grapevine yard, which provides shade throughout the day, while the second one is in the back and has an old traditional cistern. Guest access The house and its yards are an entire property so our guests have full access in all outside and inside areas. Other things to note The village is located in the central part of the island with many interesting destinations nearby. Myrtos beach is just a 10-15 minute drive away and we suggest that you visit it early in the morning or in the afternoon. In the village of Potamianata (3 minutes by car) you will find two gas stations and a Super Market. Agia Efimia is just 7 minutes away and is the nearest seaside settlement with many restaurants, cafes and bars. There you will also find a Pharmacy, Super Markets, ATMs, washing machines as well as rental services for small boats, cars, scooters and others. Sami is the nearest port (15-20 minutes drive) of the island with connections to Patras, Ithaca and other destinations. Lake Melissani and the cave of Drogarati are just 15-20 minutes away by car and are two of the most famous sights of the island. From the village but also from other nearby locations you can find hiking trails that end either on nearby beaches or mountain destinations (Monasteries, pre-earthquake settlements, etc.). We strongly recommend you to visit: -The traditional village of Assos with the Venetian castle (25 minutes) -Antisamos beach (30 minutes) -Horgota beach (35 minutes) -The traditional small town of Fiskardo (40 minutes) -Argostoli city (35-40 minutes) -Dafnoudi beach (40 minutes) -Petanoi beach (45 minutes) -The Ainos National Park (55 minutes) Registration Details 00001569934
