shepherd's hut in Bwlch-y-ffridd
Description
Come and stay in our charming shepherd's hut with a breathtaking view 'Bella' is nestled on the side of the hill in a meadow on our small holding. 'Bella' shares the acre meadow with 'Frida' our other hut (separate listing). Both have half an acre each and are well spaced and placed to ensure your own seclusion, peace and uninterrupted view. The hut is not suitable for young children, especially in the winter due to the log burner (this is the only source of heat). The space Bella is the smaller of our two huts but perfectly formed. A log burner keeps things warm in the colder months. There is a kitchen area with 2 ring gas hob, small fridge and a mini belfast sink. 1 well behaved dog welcome at £12 per stay. Dogs need to be kept on a lead please and not left unattended in the hut. Guest access Bella shares the one acre field with our other shepherd's hut Frida. They are really well spaced so your privacy is guaranteed as well as the fantastic views. You have a good deal of space to sit outdoors. Other things to note We moved to beautiful Wales in November 2021 and instantly fell in love with the stunning location. We truly feel fortunate to call this peaceful corner of the world our home. Having previously run holiday rentals in Norfolk for many years, I hope my experience means I understand what makes for a perfect stay. Our aim is always to provide a warm, comfortable, and well-thought-out space for our guests. Surrounded by nature, our property feels like a private nature reserve. You'll often see buzzards and red kites soaring overhead, pheasants wandering the fields, and a wide variety of birdsong throughout the day. At night, listen for the gentle calls of owls—otherwise, it’s wonderfully quiet and very dark, making it perfect for stargazing. On clear nights, the sky is simply breathtaking. For the past 16 years, a pair of Canadian geese have returned each year to nest and raise their young on the island in the middle of our pond. We also occasionally have some friendly “borrowed” lawn mowers from a neighbouring farm—you may spot a sheep or two helping out in the fields! This is a place for those seeking peace, quiet, and the chance to truly reconnect with nature. Whether you're enjoying a morning coffee with birdsong in the background, walking through the countryside, or simply unwinding under the stars, it’s an opportunity to slow down and soak up the serenity. Despite the tranquil setting, we’re conveniently located: just 10 minutes from a good-sized village shop and local pubs, 15–20 minutes from several supermarkets, and a variety of restaurants. We look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy the magic of this place as much as we do.
