Secluded & private within its own meadow & set on the banks of the river Cothi, unwind watching the Kites circling & keep a look out for the otters & kingfisher at your door step. In the evening light up the fire pit & start your flamed fired feast so you can sink contently into the eco double bed with duck down duvet & cotton sheets The space Escape to Meadowsweet, a secluded full off-grid retreat nestled in its own meadow along the tranquil banks of the river Cothi. Tucked within our 30-acre site, this idyllic hideaway offers a sanctuary of peace and quiet amidst the stunning Carmarthenshire countryside. Surrounded by rolling hills, valleys, and ancient forests, it serves as the perfect launchpad for exploring the landscapes and rugged coastline of west Wales. As night falls and the starlit skies unfurl above, enjoy cooking and gathering around an open fire pit. Designed for maximum connection to nature and indoor-outdoor living, no matter the weather with the kitchen and lounge fully covered unwind and reconnect to nature resetting your Circadian rhythm and recharging your inner batteries. The space is set up and equipped so you just need to bring yourself, food and cloths. The venture starts with arriving at the farm courtyard and carpark where we personally greet you, introduce you to the area, show you where to find the fridges and a freezer which have ice packs for you to use in the cool box provided at the space and wheelbarrows to assist with luggage, (when possible, we are happy to help with luggage with prior notice). Then pointing you in the direction of your hut, start your adventure which is a 500m walk away from the courtyard down scenic fields and woods to your own cabin in the wild. The bedroom is fully enclosed and insulated for your cosy night sleeps with the living area/kitchen is designed to connect you to the outside world and with its large overhanging roof you can sit on the sofa or cook in the kitchen no matter the weather. There is a firepit that can be used as a bbq for cooking and warmth, we provided wood as a part of your stay with matches and firelighters, as well as being able to purchase more wood from us if you wish to have longer evenings chilling and enjoying the dark skies and stars by the fire. The kitchen is supplied with all the cutlery/crockery/pots/pans and cooking utensils, to use in the space and for the bbq, the space also has a single gas hob for cooking and providing hot water. Basic supplies such as: salt, pepper, oil, sugar, tea, instant coffee (there is a cafetière if you wish to bring fresh coffee), toilet paper, cleaning products, washing up liquid, hand wash, are provided. The water in the kitchen is drinking water which comes filtered from our own natural spring on the land. In keeping with an off-grid experience, the lights are solar powered and a USB power bank to charge phones/tablets is provided with more batteries available. There is no mains power at Meadowsweet, this is an off-grid adventure, however we do have mains power back at the farm and are happy to charge more heavy-duty items such as laptops for you. The space has its own eco sawdust toilet with the best views around, its freshly changed every stay and we take care of the composting. There is an on-grid hot electrical shower cubical to use located back at the farm near where you park your car, towels are provided at the space, with body wash and shampoo in the cubical. Well behaved dogs are more than welcome to join you on your adventure, please add them to the listing as there is a pet fee. The views from the top fields are a must in the evening to take in the sunset or visit our 350-year-old mother tree in the woods, we have paths which we have cut and opened up, which will take you into the woods and down to our river, where you can dip your toes in and the baby fish may give you a pedicure. (they tickle so much!) or go for a plunge in the deeper parts or swim depending on the river levels. You’re welcome to try your hand at gold panning (we have pans for you to use) as there is rare welsh gold in the river or your welcome cast a rod and fish for trout and salmon that run in the river. We have multiple woods, new pioneer woodlands and older growth bluebell woodlands to explore. We have a passion for reducing our impact to the world and restoring the land and buildings of the old former farm, we have four unique cabins that we have built allowing us to share our land, outdoors and nature. Each space is completely private 100’s of meters away from one another, with fields and woodland between them, if you would like to know more, we are on Insta @restoringstonehaven. Guest access We encourage you to explore our land, woods and river, we have built paths and opened up access to different parts of the river to explore during your stay, we only ask that you are mindful to sticking to the paths so that the flora and fauna on the land can heal as nature goes about its business, we have signage around the land to help direct you to the walks, river and woods and a small map to help in orientating yourself to locations. We have 4 cabins on our 30-acre site, all spaces are set in their own unique location so privacy is maintained and separated by 100’s of meters with fields and woodlands between them, we value building and creating spaces where you can relax and enjoy by yourself. Other things to note You will need to bring good footwear like boots or Wellies to walk to the space, our paths are on a hill and can be wet, muddy and slippery even with dry weather. We also recommend bringing indoor footwear to help keep the spaces clean. Swimwear and river shoes are good to bring if you wish to dip in the river as the river is pebbly and can have sharp stones There is a hot shower hut for you to use during your stay, it’s in a different field nearer our old farm where you park your car, which is shared by our other guests
