Unique hydro and solar powered lodge located 100m above the Tasman Sea with stunning ocean views. The lodge is only accessible via a 10 min walking track up the hill (REASONABLE LEVEL OF FITNESS REQUIRED). Luggage transport via prior arrangement. Self-catering (no breakfast provided). The triple is located in a separate building, a short walk from the main building with its shared facilities (toilets, showers etc.) Due to its location the lodge is not suitable for children under 5 years. The space The Old Slaughterhouse Traveler's Lodge is a self-catering lodge offering a range of accommodation. We have 5 bedrooms in total (3 doubles, 2 twin/triples). Let us know if you wish to book more rooms than are available on Airbnb. The SHARED FACILITIES in the main building include: • Shared bathroom facilities (2 showers, 2 toilets), LOCATED IN THE MAIN BUILDING, a short walk from the bedrooms • Shared kitchen: Our spacious kitchen is fully equipped, there are two gas hobs and an oven available, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery and a fridge (no freezer, no microwave). Tea bags, instant coffee, cooking oil and several basic spices provided. All you'd need to bring is your own food. • Gas BBQ on the veranda • Shared, spacious living room with fire place • More verandas to sit and enjoy the view and sunsets and sometimes Hector's Dolphins One very friendly resident dog and an equally friendly cat. Guest access A shared kitchen, lounge, dining area and bathrooms . Self catering, guests provide their own meals. No microwave. No hairdryers (we make our own electricity with hydro and solar). During your stay We live on the premises and will be available for any questions that our guests may have about most things, e.g. the hostel, activities in the surrounding area (bushwalks, swimming, fishing, caving, mountain biking, etc.) Other things to note All our water comes from a spring here on the property and we use a mini-hydro system to generate our electricity. This limits the use of certain electric utensils, such as hairdryers, electric toasters/kettles. The fully equipped kitchen has two gas hobs and one gas oven and we heat the lodge with driftwood from the beach. The only 230v power points are in the main logde, where you can charge your devices. WiFi is available in the main building. No ensuites: The bathrooms and toilets are LOCATED IN THE MAIN BUILDING which is a short walk from the bedrooms.
