Quaker Hill Cottage is a 70 year old home located on a private estate in the historic Quaker Hill Neighborhood. Enjoy the peaceful environment surrounded by mature vegetation and active wildlife. This cozy cottage is only steps away from a trailhead that leads to several nature preserve trails & a beautiful waterfall. The Historic Downtown and Depot Districts are both just a mile away or you can visit Earlham College or explore the Antique Alley nearby. The space Our cottage is a 1950’s home located in a quiet, historic neighborhood. This cozy cottage has lots of character as well as a surprising amount of space. There is a fully furnished kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2 log fireplaces, and a queen size sofa bed. The entire space is yours to spread out and enjoy. Guest access Guests have access to nearby trails and waterfall. To get to the waterfall and Springwood Park, leave the house front door and make an immediate left - go through the small gate in the fence. Keep walking with the forest on your left. In a break in the forest, there will be a small ampitheater downhill - Continue walking with the woods on your left until you come to the trailhead. Follow the trail until it opens up to a gravel road/trail-go right on the trail until you see the waterfall on your left. Springwood Park is right across the road from the waterfall. (I recommend wearing long clothes just in case the paths are overgrown.) Fishing, horse trails, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and a playground are available at the park. Other things to note No smoking/vaping, etc. anywhere on the property (even outside of the cottage.) There are only THREE parking spaces available to guests. Only guests who are booked at the cottage are to be at the cottage (no additional guests, no visitors, and no parties.) There are a couple of steps from the parking lot to the house. Also there is a spiral staircase connecting the two levels. The main level includes two bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchen and living room. One of the main level bedrooms has a double bed. The other main level bedroom has two twin beds, one of which is a Tempur-pedic adjustable bed. There is an Amazon Firestick that you can sign in to with your Netflix &/or Amazon account (no cable). This is an old house & we have tried to make it as cozy as possible, but there are definitely cracks & imperfections throughout the entire house. Additionally, some of the furniture is old and not in perfect condition. If you are wanting everything to be new & perfect, this is not a good fit for you-please do not book with us!! If you appreciate character & don’t mind some stains & scratches, continue reading! Please note that there is no dining room. The cottage sleeps 12, but the kitchen table only sits 3 people. Late arrivals are absolutely fine!! We simply give you a code for entry so you don’t need to connect with us to get the key. Please keep in mind, however that we have set the check in time to before 10pm, however, because we will most likely be asleep after that & unable to answer questions. Please be respectful of the neighbors by not leaving personal items out in the front yard or on the front porch. Items such as coolers, towels, baby strollers, etc. can be an eyesore. If you do need to leave personal items outside, please place them on the side porch or back porch. Upon arrival: There will be enough supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and shower supplies to get you started for your stay. To get to the waterfall and Springwood Park, take the foot gate (on the west side of the fence) and walk southwest to the wooded area. Continue walking with the woods on your left until you come to the trailhead (you'll pass an amphitheater on your left). Follow the trail until it opens up to a gravel road/trail-go right on the trail until you see the waterfall on your left. Springwood Park is right across the road from the waterfall. Fishing, horse trails, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and a playground are available at the park.
