All guests are required to show proof of travel by one of the following two options: 1. A foreign passport (must be current with a port of entry stamp with in past 1 year) 2. A U.S. government issued photo ID (must be current with address outside of Chattanooga and the surrounding area) + matching credit card or debit card You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. The rooms include a sink, mirror, fans and reading lights. Shared bathrooms and showers are in the hallway. The space Boutique Hostel with dorm beds and private rooms. Private Bunk Rooms have two beds bunk bed style and are upstairs. After deciding the 100 year old house on site was beyond repair, we demolished it, but diverted 99% of its materials from going to the landfill. The old bricks went into the construction of our pavilion, and we reclaimed multiple pallets of heart pine that our woodworker incorporated into the hostel's furniture and sleeping spaces. All unusable materials went in as filler in the landscape construction. The 26 pre-cast concrete slabs that make up the exterior of The Crash Pad provide a high level of thermal efficiency and only required 3 days of install time. We used an interior scheme called "Embodied Energy." Rather than using new or decorative materials or finishes, we relied on things that were already here: a concrete floor, wood beams and joists, re-used materials, and local craftsmen. We wanted an industrial, durable, and vernacular architecture; there’s also the side benefit that there is no off-gassing of harmful VOCs in reused materials. We want our interior air to be as clean and pure as the air outside. The greenroof on top of The Crash Pad helps to insulate the entire building and well never need replacing. It also satisfies 95% of our stormwater runoff requirements. We use gas-powered tankless water heaters, low-flow sinks, showers, and toilets, LED lighting, energy-efficient washers and dryers, and re-useable cloth hand towels instead of paper towels. Guest access We offer limited free parking in the gravel parking lot on 14th street behind The Crash Pad. Guest can come and go 24/7 with key fob. Check in hours are from 4pm-9pm. We do not allow early check-ins, however if arriving after 9pm message us to set up a lockbox for self check-in. Other things to note Free Guest Parking Located at 14th and Passenger Street, Gravel Lot directly behind Hostel
