Bay Dream Believer

Message us if you need a shorter stay. * This charming newly-renovated home was built in 1888 and is right in the heart of Cape Charles on a corner lot. It's literally close to everything... the distillery, central park, shops & restaurants, and of course the beach! The space Our home just underwent a complete restoration, including all new plumbing, electrical, water heater, 2 zoned HVAC controlled by ecobee thermostats + mini split (each floor has it's own heat and AC!), and brand new appliances in the kitchen. The floors and stairwell were refinished and came out lovely! We have fully stocked the kitchen with utensils, pots/pans, and dinnerware. Our front porch is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or afternoon drink in one of the rocking chairs. We've added some cafe lights that you can plug in as desired. On the 1st floor, you will find a large living area, a parlor for afternoon drinks, dining area with kids table, bathroom, and a spacious kitchen. The 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and the laundry closet. The 3rd floor is our finished attic and has 2 twin beds and a full bed. It's an open space cooled and heated with its own mini split HVAC system. We are currently planning to re-do the backyard and will add pictures when we do. We are on the hunt for perfect weber propane grill that will be available before summer! **All but one full mattress are brand new memory foam mattresses!** Guest access The entire home is accessible, minus a couple closets and the garage for us to store our personal belongings. The utility closet on the 3rd floor is not locked, but is our 'attic storage' and contains the upstairs HVAC unit. Please do not allow children to play in this area for their safety as it's not finished. Other things to note The TV is a 2018 Samsung SmartTV so it has apps you can use to watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, etc. and of course regular cable. We usually just log into our account and logout when we leave like we've done at other air bnb's in our travels. If you want to use the cable tv remote (Spectrum), you'll need to open the cabinet under the TV. We have installed several Smarthome light switches and outlets. By default, we do not enable any 'automation' other than the front porch light turning off in the morning. If you'd like us to enable lights coming on or off when unlocking or locking the front door, let us know and we can! You'll notice which these light and fan toggle switches look a little different as they stick straight out. To turn them on or off, simply flick them up or down. If you would like to change the dimming level of the recessed lights, you can press and hold up or down to raise or lower the dimming level. When you tap up, the lights will come on and ramp up to the last level they were dimmed. Just FYI as the ramping up or down might lead you to think you've not turned it on or off, but it only takes a couple seconds to finish. I've also installed a USB charging outlet in the Kitchen and one in the Master Bedroom by the bedside table closest to the door. I know either my wife or I have forgotten my phone charger when traveling, but always at least had the cable in my car so hopefully that helps if you did the same.
