Historic Micanopy is 7 miles away. Voted cutest town in the USA, with dozens of antique shops, several restaurants, and lots of old Florida charm. In October Micanopy hosts the Micanopy Fall Harvest Festival... art, crafts, music, antiques, food...a full day of fun! Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is 8 miles away. Hiking, a 50 foot observation tower, wild horses, bison, and a museum. There are many springs, lakes, and rivers within a 45 minute drive, both north and south of McIntosh. Some as close as a mile or two. Swimming , kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and hiking are popular activities in our area.
