Named after the Gooniyandi word for “Black Cockatoo,” Girramala is a character-filled timber cottage with the feeling of a slower time. Built in the early 1970s by a German nomadic blacksmith, it remains lovingly preserved. Here, summer unfolds gently — quiet mornings, warm afternoons, and a sense of calm that lingers long after you leave. The space The space is effortlessly beautiful and embodies the quintessential Airbnb getaway — rustic, romantic, and deeply relaxing. It’s the perfect place to slow down, disconnect from the rush of modern life, and recharge. Settle in as your home base to explore Noosa, Eumundi, and the surrounding hinterland, or stay in and enjoy a friendly game of table tennis or foosball in the dedicated games room — you won’t be disappointed. Sleeping arrangements: Your booking automatically includes the KING ROOM (king-size bed, accommodates up to 2 guests). Please book for the exact number of guests, as rooms are opened and charged according to your group size — any unbooked bedrooms will remain locked. ADDITIONAL ROOMS can be opened for an EXTRA FEE: • QUEEN ROOM – queen-size bed, accommodates up to two guests • KIDS ROOM – two single beds, accommodates up to two guests Guest access The whole house, games room and fenced acreage is yours to enjoy, and your booking automatically includes the King Bedroom. If your group requires extra bedrooms which is the Queen Room (double bed) or the Kid’s Room (2 single beds) please be sure to include all guests in your reservation as they are locked. Additional rooms are opened only for the number of registered guests and are charged at $80 per room. We’ll send a request for the extra amount before confirming your booking. Other things to note We kindly ask all guests to treat this property with care, as it has been thoughtfully designed to provide a peaceful and relaxing escape. Please note that a cot is not provided, so guests traveling with an infant or toddler will need to bring their own. The bathroom features beautiful sheer linen curtains on the glass doors, adding a soft, elegant touch that complements the tranquil ambiance of the home. While they enhance the overall charm of the space, they may not provide full visual privacy. Guests traveling with teenagers or a group of friends who prefer more privacy may wish to consider this when booking. A strict no-party policy is in place, and all guests must adhere to the Noosa Council Short Term Let Properties ‘Guest Code of Conduct’. Smoking is strictly prohibited. Please note there is a chicken coop on the property, home to a few friendly hens. Guests are welcome to feed them with the provided pellets and collect and enjoy their eggs for a bit of farm-style fun. Our gardener regularly tends to the chickens to ensure their well-being. Any brief, unobtrusive visits during your stay will be communicated in advance.
