Uplifting valley view retreat at Swan Center
Description
The nature energy here is serene and quiet, supportive for recreation, creativity, work or rest. You can enjoy views of forest, meadow, ponds, lots of birds and neighbors' horses and cows. Nearby are state parks and natural areas, with lakes, rivers, waterfalls, hiking, biking, also The Farm Community, Amish farms and local historic towns with antiques/amenities. Wifi here; no TV. No pets. We appreciate guests who respect our intention to provide a restful space for our other guests. The space If you choose to stay in this space, specially designed to support personal growth, we ask that you do not consume alcohol on our 11 acre property. By reserving you are agreeing to this condition. This compact and efficient cabin has a double bed, cabinets, an equipped kitchen and a small but full bathroom, all designed for comfort and a rustic feel. Cedar trim and metal ceilings add to the ambiance, with plenty of windows, draped for privacy and darkness, and many fixtures for good lighting. There is a small workstation, a dining table, closet, and a fold out floor bed with bedding if you have an extra person or just need separate beds. (Bed and bedding are under the double bed and in the closet) Outside on the sunny side of the cabin is your covered porch with a small table and 2 chairs overlooking the long valley and many gardens. If it's rained enough recently you'll have a vernal frog pond to enjoy as well. Walking about you may enjoy the pastoral views, with cows, horses, miniature horses and a pond a short piece down the road. Guest access You can walk on the land mindfully, as there is much beauty to observe, but also natural hazards like unexpected dips or holes, downed limbs, thorny vines and plants to avoid, and a few fire ant mounds. Other things to note Walking mindfully: Bring walking shoes or boots if you plan to be out in the meadows or forest, and your own bug repellant. The ground is uneven, but the "dead-end" road is in good shape, better for jogging and doesn't have much traffic. Binoculars and a camera would be good for sights and critters you want to study. Watch for fire ant mounds and poison ivy. This is in a farming community, so expect some farm-like sounds. This is an alcohol-free zone as the property is dedicated to renewal and recovery. No smoking inside the cabin, please. And no pets.
