The fully equipped kitchen, designed by a professional chef, includes an island, a full-sized refrigerator, a stove and oven, and a hot-water sink, everything you need to prepare your favorite meals with ease. Enjoy them at the beautiful handcrafted conacaste dining table, which comfortably seats four. Downstairs, the bedroom invites you to stargaze from bed and sleep soundly on the ultra-cozy queen orthopedic mattress. Wake to birdsong and the gentle sound of waves along the shore. The ensuite bath includes hot water and all the comforts you need after a day of adventure or relaxation. Guest access You’ll have exclusive access to the entire house and patio during your stay. The property is gated, and we will meet you upon arrival to welcome you and hand you the keys. The surrounding land is cared for by a local family, so you may occasionally see them tending the grounds or run into our friendly gardener, Francisco. They respect your privacy at all times and are simply maintaining the property. Other things to note • Join us in our commitment to Mother Earth. Enjoy purified water from our Ecofilter, reduce waste by separating organic scraps, and recycle glass and metal, simple actions that reflect our dedication to environmental sustainability. Reusable grocery bags are available at the house. • The house is located on the quiet dirt road that leads to Pasacap, just on the outskirts of San Marcos. The road is unlit at night, which is very typical for the area. We recommend using a flashlight/headlamp for evening walks or taking a tuk-tuk, and we’re happy to recommend trusted drivers • Enhance your cultural experience by learning Spanish or Kaqchikel (the local Mayan language) with our recommended teachers. If you're interested in cooking, we can also arrange for a chef to teach you the art of traditional Mayan cuisine or prepare meals for you. Tranquil Evenings and Considerate Living • Our home values peaceful evenings. In accordance with the town ordinance, please help us maintain tranquility by keeping noise, music, and gatherings to a minimum after 10 p.m. Things to Consider While Traveling in Lake Atitlan • While Lake Atitlan is a paradise for scenic hikes, we advise caution and recommend exploring with companions for safety. We'd be happy to arrange guided hikes, private transportation, parking, and other experiences to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Please let us know your interests, and we'll curate a memorable holiday experience for you. • Occasional town-wide power outages are part of the Lake Atitlan experience, providing a perfect moment to enjoy nature's peace. If you rely on Wi-Fi for work, consider bringing a mobile hotspot to ensure uninterrupted connectivity. Local SIM cards and affordable Wi-Fi options are available, and we're here to promptly resolve any connectivity issues, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. • Scorpions: You may encounter scorpions around Lake Atitlan. These are harmless and comparable to a bee sting. As a precaution, shake out shoes and clothing before wearing them, and keep your bed at least a few inches away from the wall to avoid any surprises.
