Welcome to Peter Lake House — a peaceful lakeside retreat in beautiful Coe Hill. Just 2.5 hours from Toronto or Ottawa. Enjoy the quiet beauty of motor-free lake. This family-friendly cottage offers swimming, fishing, paddle boarding, cozy campfires, and gorgeous sunsets. Our large private lot is perfect for outdoor games, family fun, and making lasting cottage memories. Dogs: Hypoallergenic, non-shedding dogs only. No exceptions. ***NO PARTIES/LOUD EVENTS PERMITTED*** The space Our newly renovated open-concept cottage blends cozy rustic charm with modern comfort. The back deck overlooks the lake with breathtaking views you won’t want to miss — the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee, outdoor meals, or relax with a good book. The large private yard offers plenty of space for outdoor games, family fun, and room for your dog (hypoallergenic/non-shedding only) to explore. Inside, you’ll find a great selection of board games and books to enjoy during quiet evenings at the cottage. Peter Lake House is the perfect getaway for families or mature groups looking to relax, reconnect, and enjoy a peaceful escape in nature. The sandy walk-in shoreline is ideal for kids and families, with shallow water off the dock for easy swimming and play. For deeper water, take a floatie or watercraft farther out to our floating dock, where you can swim, jump, and dive into the lake. WATERFRONT AMENETIES: • Rowboat • Canoe • Paddle Board • Pedal Boat • Froggy Water Mat • Floating Loon • Blue Floating Chairs • Floating Swim Dock • Lifejackets (We only provide adult lifejackets. You will need to bring your own for your children if applicable) FISHING: You will love the crystal-clear water. You will be able to spot lots of fish off the dock and during your canoe ride. Our lake has fantastic fishing. We have Bass, Rock Bass, Sunfish and even Pike. You will need to bring your own rod. If you do catch anything we would love to see pictures. Good luck! WIFI: Help yourself to the WiFi. You will be able to work remotely if needed. We have a smart TV (Roku) so you can watch Netflix and your favourite streaming apps. Feel free to listen to a great playlist on Spotify. LINENS: We ask that all guests bring their own linens. We do not supply linens and there are no exceptions. If it does get cooler we also have space heaters available. PUBLIC BEACHES/BOAT LAUNCH: Wollaston Lake Public Beach (9 min) Chandos Lake Public Beach (16 min) Enjoy a nearby beach for a change of scenery! Peter lake is a motor free lake. You are more than welcome to bring your boat and use the public boat launch at Wollaston/Chandos Lake. ATV TRAIL: The ATV trail is 2 minutes down the road. Feel free to bring up your ATV and enjoy the trails. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: Coe Hill (5 min): The Monarch and The Milkweed - cafe/breakfast The Barn Chefs - gourmet food shop and bakery The Gut - Features scenic hiking trails, lookout points, a gorge, waterfalls, and beautiful fall colours. Great for photos and short hikes. LCBO Ormsby: The Old Hastings Mercantile & Gallery - It’s a charming old-fashioned mercantile, art gallery, antique shop, and gift store all rolled into one. Other things to note Peter Lake House Rules: • Only hypoallergenic, non-shedding dogs allowed • No parties • No fireworks • No smoking inside • No extra guests allowed (unless approved by host) • No open flames/candles inside Garbage: Guests must take all garbage with them on departure. We have a dump in town and it's very simple to dump your garbage there. Instructions provided to all guests. If guests fail to remove garbage on departure it will result in a $150 garbage removal fee. Noise: We ask that you keep the noise down after 11:00 PM per the city bylaw. No loud music or parties at night. This lake has full time residents on it. Please be respectful of our neighbours. Noise travels across the lake and we do not want our renters to cause any noise complaints. Damage: Please report any damage immediately. Any damage will need to be covered by our guests who caused the damage. We will need to make arrangements to fix or replace items, so the house is ready for our next guests.
