Description

Peaceful and well-appointed, this 200-year-old Listed property sits on a quiet conservation street in the heart of town, offering easy access to restaurants, shops, scenic views, walking routes, and wildlife. Located just off the A9, the eastern stretch of the breathtaking North Coast 500, our charming home offers easy access to the stunning towns, picturesque villages, and dramatic landscapes of the North Highlands—perfect for exploring all that this beautiful region has to offer. The space A compact entrance hall, accessed up 1 step directly from the street, welcomes you into the home. On one side, a large, fully equipped kitchen—including an oven, hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, and dishwasher—offers plenty of space for cooking and dining. Under the stairs, a spacious kitchen cupboard stores essentials such as a boiler, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, high chair, junior chair, and ample space for coats, bags, and shoes. From the kitchen, take two small steps up to a handy utility room with a washing machine/tumble dryer, a large Belfast sink, a pulley for drying clothes, sorting bins for recycling for and a separate WC. The utility room leads to a charming and peaceful split-level back garden featuring a drying area, a lawn, and a terrace. The terrace is furnished with a table and four dining chairs, plus a charming wooden bench. Sun loungers are available in the garden shed. The garden is suitable for all ages and, with no direct street access, is especially safe and ideal for families with young children. On the other side of the hall, a comfortable, cosy living room provides a relaxing space to recharge. Dual aspect windows offer views of the 200-year-old conservation streetscape at the front and the inviting garden at the back. Back into the hall again and up the steep straight-run staircase you will find two well-appointed and comfortable bedrooms that sleep four guests in total and split between a generously sized king-size master bedroom and a smaller and very cosy twin-bedded room. The master bedroom includes a separate, well-lit bureau desk area—perfect to work from or as a dressing table. Completing the upstairs is a modern shower room with a WC and wash-hand basin. Guest access The entire house and garden are yours to enjoy during your stay. Convenient street parking is available right outside the house and is free of charge. While parking spaces can be limited during busy office and shop hours, you’ll find it much easier to park in the evenings and on weekends. Other things to note Please note that our wonderful historic property has one small step up from the street, two low steps between the kitchen and utility room on the lower floor level and a steep and straight staircase up to the upper floor. These quirks are all part of the property. If you have any questions about this, please get in touch.
