Other things to note Property Information & Guest Notes Firewood 🔥 Bring your own wood! Firewood is not provided. You can purchase bundles conveniently at the Speedway on State Route 28 in Arkville or at other nearby locations along your drive. Connectivity 📶 There is no cell signal in the immediate area. However, the property has excellent Wi-Fi coverage inside and around the house. Before arriving, please enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone so you can make and receive calls using the network. Wildlife & Insects 🌲 Being in the woods means you may encounter wildlife and insects — it’s all part of the natural beauty here. We take proactive measures to keep small critters like mice from entering the home. If traps are in use, they’re discreetly and safely placed. Insects, including ticks, are common outdoors year-round. We recommend using bug spray from spring through fall and performing tick checks after spending time outside. If you’re bringing a pet, please make sure they’re on a preventative treatment. Weather & Road Conditions ❄️ Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable — expect snow, ice, rain, mud, or sudden changes in temperature. We do our best to keep walkways and paths clear, but nature sometimes has its own plans. Rock salt is available for use in winter, though in extreme cold, ice can refreeze. The driveway is plowed after approximately 3–5 inches of snow, depending on conditions and the plow schedule. All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles are strongly recommended for this region, especially in winter months. Burn Bans & Safety Notices 🔥 Mountain weather and fire conditions can change quickly. Local or state authorities may issue burn bans, road closures, or state of emergency notices that affect the use of outdoor fire pits, campfires, and cooking fires. These orders must be followed when in effect. Failure to comply may result in fines issued by local fire or police departments.
