Fort Matanzas State Park can provide a nice little adventure, with a free boat ride from the National Park Service over to the island fort. If you’re looking for a little more in your vacation, downtown historic district Saint Augustine is just a few minutes to the north. You can take in the larger fort, Castillo de San Marcos, or an event at Francis Field.
