Description

Ideal for family or friends. In an 18th century building we have created a pleasant interior and fitted out comfortable holiday home. This sparsely populated region, with its panoramic views, woods, lakes and rivers, combines our passion for nature and culture in the small stone village of Fontenay-près-Vézelay. The great biodiversity makes it an ideal place to recharge your batteries. We will happily advice you about hikes, medieval villages, vineyards, castles, restaurants, etc. Julie & Abel The space Le Cheval Bleu welcomes you with: - 3 double bedrooms, each equipped with a very large bed and private bathroom/toilet. - A sitting area - A private terrace - A garden - A large dining room/meeting place/lounge - Equipped kitchen - Free parking - Linens provided - Cleaning included (details below) Vacation home (cottage) You can choose to book Au Cheval Bleu with two or three bedrooms. Each has a French double bed and a separate bathroom with shower and toilet. The rooms are named Charolais, Nourrice and Flottage. The Flottage has a separate entrance on the front of the building. The three bedrooms are furnished with a table and two adapted chairs, a chest of drawers or a small wardrobe, a coat rack or clothes rail, a wall mirror, a hair dryer. In addition, Nourrices and Flottage have an armchair. Charolais and Nourrices are located on the first floor of the central part of the building (the old stable). They start from a spacious living room that is part of the vacation home. In the same part of the building, you will find the kitchen, a small rest room as well as technical and storage rooms not accessible to guests. The kitchen is generously equipped. It includes, among other things, an electric stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and DeLonghi coffee machine. The wooden part of the building – connected to the kitchen – has two entrances – one overlooking the front and the other overlooking the garden. It hosts the combined living and dining room. One of its doors opens onto a small terrace at the back of the house. There you will find chairs, a table and a grill. Right next door is a terrace that serves as a second outdoor living area of the cottage. The main land of the property, elongated and gently sloping, covers about 1,000 square meters. It includes a lovely garden overlooking the quiet street, two terraces for guests, and a large garden (cultivated without chemicals). Our main land is located at the foot of a wooded hill. Our Wi-Fi is free. We have a solar thermal system on the roof and a small photovoltaic system in the garden. The latter contributes to the basic supply of the house with electricity, the former provides most of the hot water. If the sun is not enough, the conventional electrical system takes over. As is the case in many parts of France, Au Cheval Bleu does not have central heating. But all rooms can be heated by electric heaters. The house has no air conditioning, but its thick stone walls keep it cool in summer, and warm in winter. Other things to note Food (meals, picnics) possible on request with our local partner.
