The space *Open and available* This is a beautiful, quality home. It's been updated with fine linens, lovely furniture, antique rugs, and original artwork. Situated on the mountainside to take full advantage of its gorgeous setting (including the 180 degree vista), this is a property you won't forget. Guest access You are welcome to use the entire living space with the exception of a few locked storage areas. Other things to note Cell phones rarely work at the cabin, but calls/texts over our WiFi is generally reliable. If a storm takes out electricity (or WiFi) it is usually repaired same-day, within a matter of hours. There are DVDs, however no cable TV. 1 non-shedding dog per reservation is allowed, please refer to the house rules for details. As you would expect from a log cabin on 5 acres on the edge of a national forest, we offer a mountain experience with all the beauty and joy that the NC mountains offer. This includes breathtaking views, gorgeous hiking, and forest friends (like bear, deer, bugs). For guests who are squeamish about bugs: Although the cabin has been professionally sealed, is regularly treated for pests, and is regularly cleaned; you will probably still see bugs. In particular, Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs are considered harmless to people though prevalent in early spring and late fall when seasons/temperatures change. These bugs do not breed indoors nor do they bite or sting! However they may bother those sensitive to insects because they seek indoor refuge during the Fall, and wake up to move outdoors again in the Spring when temperatures warm. Despite our best efforts, you may see more of them than you like in the Fall or Spring (in the 10s not the 100s).
