The Bell House Retreat. An all-season refuge.
Description
Our home, nestled at the forest edge on a winding road, is not a staged property. It’s life in the country. Charleston Lake Park, beach, cross-country trails, the Thousand Islands, Gananoque, Brockville, Kingston , and the Rideau Canal are nearby. A little fishing river runs around the area and we keep an old canoe for our guests. Three night minimum for visits when we may be at home. Four nights minimum when you require sole occupancy.. The space This is a comfortable old country house that offers most modern amenities amidst reminders of its longish history. Definitely not IKEA and probably not right for folks with Four Seasons expectations. Guest access IMPORTANT: Guests who book stays of four nights or more have the option of exclusive occupancy of the whole two-storey house (with the exception of one bedroom and a closet.) In cases where our guests book stays of less than five nights, we may sometimes be in residence and sometimes not. You'll be welcome either way. Yes, this is a slightly unusual offer, but it serves everyone's interests because it avoids scheduling issues and keeps costs down. Don't hesitate to talk to us through Airbnb. Other things to note The house is heated in winter by a gas furnace. The wood-burning stove is an option for your enjoyment, not a necessity. Winter heating costs are negotiated between us and in advance. We arrange that our caretakers leave the doors unlocked shortly before your arrival. Just walk in.
