Renovated traditional stone and wood house in the small village of Paleoloutra, in southern Rethymno, 22 km from the city and 11 km from the beautiful beaches of Plakias. It consists of a ground floor, an upper floor, a large courtyard with a dining area under the vine, sun loungers, a small garden with aromatic plants, and a wonderful view of the mountains and the lush valley. Ideal base for excursions to beaches, nature walks (European Trail E4), and/or working remotely. Enjoy simplicity and peaceful stillness. The space This is a two-story house, predominantly built of stone and wood, with a large courtyard and a garden. On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen, with an additional washing machine and dishwasher, and the bathroom. On the floor where the bedroom and living room are located, there is plenty of natural light and very good air conditioning. There are books, board games, and a TV (+ Netflix). There are insect screens on the door and windows for protection against insects. The kitchen has a heater for the colder months and a fan for the summer. The layout is simple and functional and adapts to the season of the year. The large courtyard, surrounded by fragrant plants and flowers, is shaded during the summer months by a vine and a mulberry tree, and features an outdoor dining area, sun loungers, and an outdoor shower. It overlooks the mountains and the garden, and you can enjoy it in all seasons, even during the cold months, because it is fully protected from the north wind. You also have access to the small garden with citrus trees, and you can use the aromatic plants in your cooking. There is very reliable Wi-Fi in all areas and in the courtyard.
