Description

Come stay on our hobby farm with us! We are in a great central location to multiple hiking trails and gorgeous falls. We have had many guests visit the sea caves in Cornucopia, spend the day in Bayfield, or hike the Porcupine Mountains. We also are only a few miles from the ATV trails if you would rather spend the day riding the trails. We have multiple places to mountain bike or kayak. We have more things to do listed in our details section! Feel free to message me with questions. The space The house is a nice modern build with all modern appliances. We have a Tesla Charger in the front of the house to accommodate EVs. We have a dishwasher, a decent size fridge, washer and dryer, microwave and a propane stove. The shower also has handles and a hose attachment. We also have an air exchanger to keep fresh air circulating. When you first walk in, to the right we have a nice sitting area with a fold down table. This will give you extra space to prepare meals, and you will be able to eat breakfast with a nice view of the woods where you will likely see deer eating in the apple orchard. If you want extra space during the day, it is simple to fold this down out of the way. We have a futon in the sitting area as well as a TV equipped with a Roku so you can sign in to your favorite streaming service while on vacation. We have all of our Wifi information in the house when you first walk in for your other devices. The kitchen is well equipped for such a small space! It has a Keurig machine and coffee, tea, creamer, and sugar are all provided. We also provide a small blender and a pressure cooker that can be used for slow cooking. We also have roasting sticks if you want to roast marshmallows or hotdogs over the fire and a microwavable popcorn bowl. There is a cutting board next to the pressure cooker. We provide cups, glasses, bowls, plates, silverware, can opener, and some basic cooking knives. Pots and pans are in the drawers. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. There is also a charcoal grill outside for you to use during your stay. You must bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid if you would like to use it. We have garbage and recycle bins available underneath the sink. If you fill them up during your stay or would like to empty it, we have a dumpster available. Otherwise you can leave it under the sink and we will take care of it. Please don't leave anything outside as we are in the country and occasionally get curious animals like skunks. In the living room there are multiple windows that give you an amazing view of our pond in back and the woods. We are on a hill so you will be able to see quite a ways and we are frequently visited by deer, turkeys, and grouse. As mentioned in the description the tiny house is on our hobby farm. It is on top of a hill that overlooks our garden and allows for a beautiful view of our area. It is also located next to our pond. You can see our house from the tiny house but there is a pond and large yard between us and we give our guests plenty of privacy. We chose this location because of the beautiful views offered from the pond, garden, and partially wooded side that allows for you to see the old apple orchard that most of the wildlife visits. As for safety, we have fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. There is a fire extinguisher and first aid kit next to the oven. The cabinet is marked. All of the shades in the house are also cordless. We can accommodate trailers and there is a large turn around at the end of the driveway. Please let us know if you are bringing a trailer and we will tell you how best to park based on the size. We do allow pets. We recommend no more than 2 small/medium sized dogs or 1 large dog simply because of the size of the house. Pets must be well behaved, not aggressive towards people or other dogs, and we require them to be crated if not being supervised. If you have any other special requests, please send us a message. Guest access You will have access to the entire tiny house, a parking space in front, and a the fire pit and sitting area in back. Other things to note We can accommodate trailers for snowmobiles and ATVs. Please message us for details if you plan to bring a trailer. If you are looking for good hiking trails we are about: 15 min to Potato River Falls 35 min from Copper Falls State Park 40 min from Rainbow Falls/Black River Harbor area. 55 min to St Peters Dome 1 hr to Bayfield 1 hr 10 min to Cornucopia/ Meyers Beach area. 1 hr 15 min to Porcupine Mountains In Iron County we have: Potato River Falls Wren Falls Superior Falls Saxon Falls Interstate Falls Spring Camp Falls Foster Falls Peterson Falls We have mountain biking trails at: Copper Peak (about a 30 min drive) Copper Falls State Park (about a 35 min drive) Miners Memorial Mountain Bike trails (about a 20 min drive) WinMan Trails (about a 50 min drive) Cable Bike Park (about 1 hr and 15 min drive) Our personal favorite places to bike are WinMan trails as there are a wide variety of features for all levels. The Cable Bike Park also has a wide variety of features that make it easy to work up from basic to more advanced. If you would like to go kayaking or paddle boarding we have multiple places to rent them or take tours. Lost Creek Adventures in Cornucopia offer classes, tours, and rentals for kayaks and paddle boarding. Solstice Outdoors in Ashland also offers rentals. If you would like to tour the Apostle Islands there are tours available from Bayfield. You can also take a shuttle to some of the islands and spend the day hiking them. There is also a ferry that can take you to Madeline Island. Please check the times and availability of the places you would like to visit. Some places are only open for part of the year and accessible at certain times. Many businesses are also seasonal and their hours change throughout the year. We take great pride in taking care of our property and aim to provide our guests with the best experience possible. However, it is important to note our property is in the country and some things are out of our control. We can't control the native insect populations, weather, or local wildlife. We do put out traps for insects, like flies and mosquitoes, and provide bug spray for warmer months, but there is no way to completely eliminate them. We are well equipped to handle snow and will message you if you are going to be here during a snow storm. Any other major weather events are rare for this area but not impossible and will be handled case by case. It is also important to not leave any food outside and to have pets leashed to avoid any potential encounters with local wildlife. If any unforeseeable issues arise during your stay, I do encourage you to reach out to us and we will make a reasonable attempt to remedy the issue. Please let us know if you have any questions or are looking for any recommendations.
