Our cozy Taveuni home sits high in the hills of Matei area, capturing all the sea breezes from the coast. The home is well positioned being a 5 minute walk to the ocean, restaurant and dive shop, a 5 minute drive to the airport ; and 15 minutes to the city. In addition, Matei area has 3 grocery shops where you can purchase just about anything you need. The space The room we offer configures to accommodate a couple (king bed). The room has a small walk-in wardrobe, bedside table, a fan and a magnificent ocean view! The bathroom has a beautiful stone sink and highlight of an outdoor shower. The house is spacious, and guests have access to a kitchen, lounge, dining area, a large wooden deck and a tropical garden. Other things to note Jason our cousin who you will share our house with (kitchen,bathroom, living room is shared) is happy to take you around our beautiful 3 acre land that he is farming on. Pick your own papayas, pineapples, coconuts, mangos, guavas,… (some fruits are only in certain seasons) or ask Jason to uproot some dalo and kassava or get involved into some kava tasting. Our house is completely off-grid running on solar power therefore we ask you to safe energy as much as possible. Also water should be saved as much as possible. We have only cold water which is nice and refreshing with the Fiji-heat:) We do not provide internet. Parking is on the street so you will easily park outside the house and the neighbourhood is extremely safe. The gravel road up to our house is quite steep therefore make sure you take a 4wheel truck up (taxi or rent a car) If you are walking - it will surely be a great exercise. We also have two lovely dogs that are super friendly and are always happy to welcome new guests. You must be a dog lover as they are allowed inside the house. Although the cabin is basic- it is comfortable, clean and inviting. If you're expecting 5 star luxury, this isn't the place for you.
