Description

The Therese Suite in Weitersroda Castle is a fairytale retreat for up to 12 guests. Ideal for family reunions, celebrations or creative breaks, it combines history, nature and inspiration. Antique furniture, cozy bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen provide comfort. A fireplace, large garden with barbecue area, play area and lawn invite you to linger. Wi-Fi, quiet location, pets welcome – a place with soul! The space Welcome to the Therese Suite. Via the stone spiral staircase of a 500-year-old tower, you reach the second floor of Weitersroda Castle to the Therese Suite. Here, a fairytale refuge for up to 12 guests unfolds over 125 m² – with a large oak table for all guests and views of the castle courtyard and its magnificent trees. The castle is an ideal group accommodation for festive gatherings, family reunions, inspiring breaks or simply an unforgettable trip to another world. The namesake: Princess Therese Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen came to the Bavarian throne in 1825 as the wife of Ludwig I. The Munich Theresienwiese is named after her. The fairy-tale king Ludwig II was her grandson. Since Florian Kirner, a native of Munich, has been running Schloss Weitersroda since 2008, it was only natural to set up a habitable monument to the Hildburghäuserin on the Bavarian throne with this opulent apartment. The ideal group accommodation The furnishings impress with a loving collection of antique furniture and lots of art. The Therese Suite is ideally designed for groups of all kinds - with 12 sleeping places, a living room/kitchen and two bathrooms (1x shower, 1x bathtub). There is also a large "refectory table" in the salon room. This incredibly heavy oak table is centuries old and comes from a monastery. With 12 identical chairs, you can hold real feasts here. Child and dog friendly Therese herself was the loving mother of nine children. Our vacation suite is also the ideal paradise for children. There is a high chair and fall protection for toddlers. There is the "castle ghost dungeon" to discover - and the castle grounds are a single, large adventure playground. Dogs are also welcome (at extra cost). They will get along well with our own castle dog Feya. Heat, light & Internet Fireplaces crackle on winter evenings, in the middle aisle a pellet heating system provides permanent warmth. All windows are new and insulated. In summer, the mighty castle walls keep the rooms pleasantly cool. Super-fast fiber optic Internet makes the suite ideal for workations or creative retreats – a working environment like from another world. Special places – inside and outside In addition to the spacious suite itself, there is a charming reading foyer with books and a writing desk for quiet hours on the 1st floor as well as the spacious castle courtyard with fireplace and grill, stage, covered seating, pavilion, swings, sun loungers and play facilities for children. The romantic temple grove with seating under the canopy offers a great retreat, just like the two-acre tree park – with mowed paths, giant aspen trees and fascinating wild and romantic nature. The castle project Weitersroda Castle will celebrate its 550th anniversary in 2028. From 1478 it was built for the Franconian imperial knight Eucharius von Hessberg. Later it was owned by the Dukes of Saxony-Hildburghausen. In 2008, the Munich artist, author and event manager Florian Kirner - aka Prince Chaos II - acquired it. After decades of neglect, the castle has since experienced a new heyday - you can read about it in the castle lord's book: "Freies Land! Prince Chaos, the Thuringians and a castle" Every year around Ascension Day, the Bird of Paradise Festival has been held at Weitersroda Castle since 2010. Optional royal expansion If necessary, additional rooms can be rented: The rustic Schloss-Schenke Simplicissimus as a fully operational restaurant with space for up to 40 people. The Space – the attic of the horse stable with 500 sqm - as an atmospheric event room for seminars or retreats. Weitersroda Castle - A place that lifts you out of time – not a standard, but a fairytale experience full of history, splendor and soul. Guest access - The Schlosshof with its 300-year-old magnificent linden tree, fireplace, two stages and numerous seating or swinging opportunities is at your free disposal. - You can also visit the "Temple Grove". The small deciduous forest right behind the castle courtyard invites you to the silence - and on hot summer days in the cool shade under the canopy. - Upon request, you can also book the castle tavern "Simplicissimus", the blue salon or "the space". Please ask us. Other things to note Welcome to the Therese Suite. Via the stone spiral staircase of a 500-year-old tower, you reach the second floor of Weitersroda Castle to the Therese Suite.
