A peaceful cabin in the woods, Near & Deer Lodge sits near the top of Pink Mountain, next to Yonah Mountain. The cabin has an incredible rocking chair deck with a beautiful woodsy view and is just minutes from Helen, Georgia; the picturesque Yonah Mountain Vineyards; and NoFo Brewery. The property backs up to the Yonah Mountain/Chattahoochee National Forest property. Fast WiFi makes family movie nights and work away from home possible. The 3-level cabin has a modern feel, with bright white walls, rustic furniture, plank floors in the upstairs bedrooms, and charming wood plank ceilings on the main level. Amenities include rocking chairs and a hammock chair, a gas fire pit, and a gas fireplace. The rooms are spacious. The walls have a mix of woodsy and farmhouse art by Georgia artists, as a nod to the farms you'll pass as you approach the neighborhood. You'll likely be greeted by black angus cows and alpacas on the approach to Pink Mountain. Conveniences and amenities include: -Gas fire pit -Rocking chair & hammock chair deck -100 mbps WiFi -A giant screen for family movie nights or football (access live TV with YouTubeTV app) -A second giant screen in one of the queen bedrooms -Games and puzzles -Children's books and toys (farmhouse setup, Legos, wooden blocks, and Lincoln Logs) The cabin layout: -You enter through the bottom level where a queen room, full bathroom with bathtub, and laundry room are located. -One floor up, the main floor features a wrap-around deck with the most peaceful view, the living room, kitchen, dining area, and half bath. There is a game table here that can double as a workspace if needed. -The top floor features the "family suite" with a spacious master bedroom, a bedroom with two twin beds and bean bag chairs, and a shared bathroom with a shower. Driveway & parking: -Once you enter our road, you may find it helpful to keep a consistent speed going up, especially for the final ascent up the steep driveway. -There is parking at the top of the driveway and on the left side toward the top of the driveway. -The driveway is quite steep. We're 2 hours away near Atlanta and you can call us or text us with questions. Wildwood on Pink Mountain is a quiet private community and most of it is paved. You won't see a lot of traffic here. Once you enter the neighborhood, you may find it helpful to keep a consistent speed going up, especially for the final ascent up the steep driveway. There is parking at the top of the driveway and on the left side toward the top of the driveway. You're welcome to walk the neighborhood. You'll get good exercise. Nearby are many trails and hikes. For families, we recommend Duke's Creek Falls. The hike descends into a breathtaking waterfall and observation area. Yonah Mountain is popular for its soaring views for both hikers and bikers. Great activities for kids include tubing in Helen, panning for gold and gem mining in Dahlonega, or heading to the Northwest Georgia Zoo in Cleveland. For groceries, IGA is the closest but has the smallest selection. The Ingles is very nice and only 10 minutes away as is Walmart. Both have gluten-free selections. Tantrum Brewery rivals many breweries in Atlanta with an incredible line-up of brews and a nice outdoor area where the kids can play games and eat King of Pops popsicles. Tantrum typically has a food truck on the weekends.
