Fox+Fern Cottage is your cozy home away from home. Our Cottage is walkable to nearly everything in Two Harbors. We are a mile walk to the lake and less than that to Castle Danger Brewery. Fantastic base to explore the North Shore (see reviews). Our yard is a quiet oasis with outdoor seating and swings galore. A/C units installed early JulyRarely will you needwith the cool lake breezes that flow through the shaded house. There's room to pitch a tent on the patio rubber mulch too . Permit #23-05 The space Fox+Fern is cozy and quaint and nestles you within its walls. Our family of 5 has a passion for the North Shore and nature. You will find numerous beach finds in the form of agates, feathers, driftwood, and more spread throughout the home. Along with local hiking books, nature books (kids and adults), and novels galore. I also have a passion for poetry and reading and you will find local poetry and more layered throughout our cottage. My husband is also a maker and some of his handcrafted wood projects grace the home as well. The yard has a private patio space along with a pebble play pit for the kiddos and tent swing hanging from one of the trees, and 1-2 hammocks. We recently added a weatherproof bags set as well as a disc swing. We hope you enjoy our home away from home just as we do. We recently updated the bunk room with a lofted twin and an small futon couch underneath. We also have a packnplay, toddler cot, and big kid cot- we've used these in the 2nd bedroom, master bedroom, and even front entry/coat room. There's also room to pitch a small tent on the mulch outside if more space is needed. We recently replaced the pull out sofa mattress and added a support board to both the sofa bed and the accordion futon in the bunk room. Guest access Spring through Fall- Enjoy the private patio, firepit, and new gas grill. There is plenty of propane onsite and firewood can be purchased at SuperOne or Kwik Trip just a few minutes drive away, if there is firewood onsite feel free to use. There is a tree swing hanging from the tree near the shed and a pebble/nature area right off the patio for the kiddos to enjoy. As well as a single disc swing on one of the cedar trees near the master bedroom window. Along with 2 hammocks. Summer activities: -Grandmas Marathon -Multiple festivals in town -Hiking -Biking -Exploring downtown thrift shops and stores -Walkable to most restaurants -Multiple coffee shops in town -Swimming passes available for purchase at nearby hotel pool area that includes hot tub and waterslide- message me once booked for details. -DVD collection of classic movies and family movies for cozy nights in by the electric fireplace. -Large collection of games and puzzles. Toys and crafting galore for the kids to play with. -Rent our bikes and paddleboard for an extra fee. Other things to note Our internet is fiber optic, and we have brought in a stool to create a workspace in the master bedroom where the TV is. Enjoy our beautiful tree-filled lot view from the window and sound of birds tweeting as you work. Summer: AC- please note that we have window air conditioning units installed early June through late August. Winter: Snowmobilers accommodations, please note our driveway is large enough to accommodate one to two vehicles depending on the snow levels. Check out the Voyageurs Snowmobile club to learn about overnight trailer parking. Please note there is a Shovel on the front steps and a Shovel leaning against the garage along with salt if needed. There will be a plow/snowblowing service to complete the driveway snow removal for 2" or more of snow Upon check out: Please note that in order for us to keep our cleaning fee low, we ask that you strip used linens and leave on washer, empty the trash, and wash/return dishes before leaving.
