The Harmony Barn is a private guest retreat inside our historic Maine barn, perfect for a cozy getaway. Enjoy a queen bedroom, living room, kitchenette, walk-in shower, and your own private saltwater hot tub. Our antique home sits on 4 wooded acres just minutes from Portland, the ocean, and 125 acres of nature trails, yet feels wonderfully secluded. The spacious backyard is yours! We occasionally need to be outside, but always respect your privacy. Traveling with a talkative dog? No problem! The space Half of the Harmony Barn has been thoughtfully renovated into a cozy, private retreat featuring a queen bedroom, comfortable living area, kitchenette, and oversized walk-in shower. Step outside to your own peaceful backyard, where you’ll find a salt-water hot tub, Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit—perfect for relaxing beneath the stars after a day exploring Maine. The hot tub offers wonderful privacy in the evening and at night. During the day, it sits in an open backyard area near a lightly traveled road, so while the setting is peaceful, there may be occasional passing cars and limited daytime privacy. Before becoming the Harmony Barn, this space was my late husband’s Brickhouse Music recording studio for more than 25 years—a place filled with music, late-night recording sessions, creativity, laughter, and lifelong friendships. When you look through the back window, you’ll still see pieces of that story: microphones, his upright bass, guitars, vintage recording equipment, and photographs that remain where they’ve always belonged. Rather than changing everything, we chose to preserve those memories and share them with our guests. Today, we’re honored to open those doors to travelers from around the world. Thank you for being part of the next chapter of the Harmony Barn’s story. Guest access You’ll have your own private entrance and the entire guest suite to yourself. Outside, enjoy your own small deck overlooking the backyard, along with Adirondack chairs, and your private salt-water hot tub. The backyard is almost exclusively yours during your stay. We respect our guests’ privacy and avoid using the backyard whenever possible. On rare occasions, we may briefly access the area for lawn care, snow removal, or other essential maintenance. Whenever our schedule allows, we’re happy to accommodate early check-in or late checkout—just ask. Other things to note Downtown Portland is just 7 minutes away. Kettle Cove Beach, Crescent Beach State Park, Portland Head Light, and Two Lights State Park are all within 5 minutes. I usually have a park pass you can borrow, saving about $20 at Two Lights.
