Marhaba! We are delighted to welcome you to our family-owned and operated bed & breakfast in Khamlia, Morocco. We are just minutes from the Erg Chebbi Dunes in the Sahara Desert. The space The Edinburgh Room is a large family room with one double-bed, two single beds, and a private en-suite bathroom with plenty of solar-powered hot water. It also has a double wardrobe, a small table with chairs, and air conditioning. The Edinburgh comfortably holds four adults, but if your party is larger, we can sleep up to 16 people throughout the bed & breakfast. Wake up to a delicious breakfast of warm, homemade Moroccan flatbread and Moroccan mint tea or freshly squeezed orange juice. Breakfast is included in the accommodation price. We have a café servicing lunch and evening meals for a flat rate. All your meals are prepared with local, organic produce. We serve Moroccan, Irish and European cuisine. Within a five-minute walk from Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast lies the Erg Chebbi Dunes on the southeastern edge of the great Sahara Desert. Enjoy a camel trek, quad or motorbiking, stargazing after sunset, and take in the local Gnaoua drum rhythms by fire. The desert is truly a magical experience and one you will not easily forget. We look forward to hosting you! Guest access Our guests have access to our lounge and salon as well as our rooftop terrace and café. Enjoy these areas of Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast for relaxation, socializing, and dining. We have a library of DVDs, books and board games for our guests to enjoy while they stay with us. Our rooftop terrace offers wonderful views of the surrounding village and dunes. Enjoy your breakfast here. Guests can relax, sunbath, or sleep under the stars. It is a totally private terrace with a walled perimeter and is accessed only from the interior of the bed & breakfast. Our indoor relaxing area is perfect for chatting, snoozing, reading, or writing. It is a large airy space offering shade and respite from the desert heat and sun, but also allows the warm desert breeze to flow through. We also have a roofed outdoor space which is walled on three sides, but also allows a feeling of 'being outside' while being protected from the sun and wind. If you fancy a slightly less private space and more interaction with the villagers and children, this is the place for you. Other things to note Your experience at Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast will be greatly influenced by the season you stay with us. All our fruit and vegetables are seasonal and vary throughout the year. May/June is a bustling time before the full sun of the summer ignites. December/January is popular for holidays and New Year celebrations. Outdoor activities such as walking, climbing and cycling are recommended in these cooler months. July/August is very hot. It is also sand bath season. Evening music and entertainment can be arranged and brought on-site by our world famous Khamlia Gnaoua. Desert camel treks, walking tours, and 4x4s excursions can be organised by our staff. Trips to the local souk can be arranged, as can traditional cooking and bread making demonstrations. Henna art is also available by arrangement, as well as various natural beauty treatments and massage. All meals can be catered for and arranged. Packed lunches can also be prepared by staff.
